摘要: A method of recovering crude oil from crude oil drenched adsorbent and simultaneously regenerating the adsorbent to render it suitable for re-use in crude oil adsorption. The method includes contacting crude oil drenched adsorbent, in the form of solid nanofibrous expanded polystyrene drenched with adsorbed crude oil, with a non-polar solvent, thereby obtaining regenerated crude oil lean adsorbent and crude oil rich solvent.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for recovering mature fine tailings (MFT) from oil sands tailings ponds. Some examples include a hollow, fully enclosed around its perimeter, ideally of cylindrical form, open bottom structure (a hollow conduit), of predetermined geometry, which is placed at the pond surface. The hollow conduit can penetrate MFT deposits to or below a level at which MFT of required density is located. A width or diameter of the hollow conduit can be determined with respect to the MFT inflow velocity and the corresponding shear rate, so as to enable MFT flow into the hollow conduit at a rate matching a rate at which the MFT is removed from the pond (e.g., a recovery rate). An MFT fill level inside the hollow conduit can be kept constant and equal to a required fill level throughout MFT recovery operations. MFT can enter the hollow conduit during MFT recovery operations solely under action of hydraulic head pressure. MFT can be transferred from within the hollow conduit utilizing a mechanical device such as a pump or a siphon, for transfer to shore based facilities and further processing.

摘要: A feather oil absorbent boom structure comprising an inner core and an outer ring winding outside the inner core; the inner core is a cloth bag, and the cloth bag is filled with feather oil absorbent material; the cloth bag is made of spunbonded-melt blown-spunbonded polyporpylene non-woven cloth; the outer ring is a plate-shaped oil absorbent felt formed through thermal fusion of feathers and bicomponent fibers of polypropylene/polyethylene having a low melting point; the weight ratio of the feathers to the bicomponent fibers is 70-85:15-30. The feather oil absorbent boom is capable of providing reliable buoyancy, and slowing down the reduction of the strength of the inner core. Further disclosed is a preparation method for the feather oil absorbent boom structure.

摘要: An apparatus for removing water contaminants, in which when water contaminants, such as oil, green algae and red algae, are generated on the water surface, the apparatus sucks in the water contaminants, passes the sucked in water contaminants through an absorbent paper in order that the water contaminants are absorbed by the absorbent paper, and makes the absorbent paper roll periodically or continuously, thereby maintaining the absorbability of the absorbent paper contaminated by the water contaminants. The apparatus includes a suction pipe for sucking in the water contaminants from an inlet; a suction pump connected to the suction pipe for sucking in the water contaminants from the inlet to the outlet side of the suction pipe; and an absorbent paper installed at the periphery of the inlet of the suction pipe, wherein the absorbent paper is installed to be movable in the inlet and absorb the water contaminants.

摘要: The oil recovery system is used to remove oil from water. The system includes rollers rotatably supported on a frame, one of the rollers having drive sprockets. A belt extends between the first and second rollers and a roller press squeezes the belt to thereby remove oil from the belt. The belt has a first layer of oleophilic material, a second layer of oleophilic material and a third central reinforcing scrim layer between the first and second layer. Chains extend along the side edges of the belt, and are driven by the sprockets. The chains are connected to the side edges by a plurality of flanges that are integral the chains, reinforcing cords extending along the side edges, reinforcing strips wrapped around the reinforcing cords and extending along the side edges, and a plurality of pins that extend through the flanges, the strip and the three layers.
