Abstract: A display apparatus transmits a picture acquisition request for getting picture information to an external image apparatus connected through a predetermined interface to the display apparatus from the external image apparatus at predetermined intervals and gets a plurality of pieces of picture information from the external image apparatus to be displayed. The plurality of pictures may be switched at predetermined intervals, for example, to be displayed, so that the plurality of pictures may be displayed in a so-called slide show manner. A plurality of pictures for thumbnail may be produced from the plurality of pieces of picture information and be arranged together to be displayed in one picture screen of a display device.

Abstract: An MFP system includes a master device and a slave device. The slave device includes an operation acceptor, and an image reader, and is capable of communicating among a plurality of MFPs. The slave device includes an other-MFP transmission requester that makes a request to another MFP such that image data is transmitted by FAX transmission to a transmission destination. The master device includes an associator that, when an other-MFP transmission request is accepted from the slave device, associates and stores transmission destination information and the slave device, and when image data is received from the outside, the master device determines whether or not information of a transmission destination to which the image data was transmitted is stored in the associator, and if the information of the transmission destination is stored in the associator, transmits the image data received from the outside to the associated slave device.

Abstract: A portable electronic device with a touch screen display for photo management is disclosed. One aspect of the invention involves a computer-implemented method in which the portable electronic device displays an array of thumbnail images corresponding to a set of photographic images. The device replaces the displayed array of thumbnail images with a user-selected photographic image upon detecting a user contact with a corresponding thumbnail image in the array. The user-selected photographic image is displayed at a larger scale than the corresponding thumbnail image. The portable device displays a different photographic image in replacement of the user-selected photographic image in accordance with a scrolling gesture. The scrolling gesture comprises a substantially horizontal movement of user contact with the touch screen display.

Abstract: An information providing device is capable of communicating with an image forming device, a data managing device, and a transmission terminal. The information providing device includes a storage unit; a communication unit that transmits a forming instruction to instruct the image forming device to perform image forming, and receives, from the image forming device, storage location information indicating the data managing device that stores data obtained by image forming by the image forming device and indicating a storage location in the data managing device; and a storage location managing unit that generates, in the storage unit, management information in which identification information of the image data is associated with the storage location information. The communication unit receives the data saved in the storage location indicated by the storage location information from the data managing device and transmits the received data to the transmission terminal.

According to one embodiment, a system for comparing printers includes at least one web portal configured to receive a user's selection of two models of printers to be compared. The system further includes a printer analysis server configured to receive the user's selection via a first network. The printer analysis server is configured to establish communication with two sample printers of the plurality of sample printers, the two sample printers corresponding to the two selected printer models. The printer analysis server is further configured to provide a data stream of print commands to the two sample printers and analyze print output results from the two sample printers, wherein the print output results may then be provided to the user.

Abstract: An authentication processing portion of an MFP requests user authentication to a server based on user information including at least a user ID input from a mobile terminal apparatus or an operation panel. The server has a user authentication portion which performs the user authentication and a UI instruction portion which specifies, when the user authentication succeeds, a UI image displayed on a display panel of the apparatus for operating the MFP depending on the user ID, and instructs the MFP to display the UI image on the apparatus. The MFP executes image output in accordance with a user operation received from the apparatus through the wireless communication portion in a state where the UI image is displayed on the apparatus.
