    摘要: An asymmetric, broadband, compact and low-PIM orthomode transducer comprised of two parts is presented. Mating of the two parts results in the formation of a choke flange as well as a critical impedance step which suppresses unwanted modes and enables broadband matching of the junction between the two parts. Furthermore, a cruciform-quatrefoil waveguide type is utilized that transitions to an aperture. This waveguide configuration can lead to a lower overall part length, an improved reflection, and reduced manufacturing costs.

    摘要: A flexible and twistable terahertz waveguide assembly has a flexible waveguide with waveguide flange connectors at its ends. The flexible waveguide comprises a segmented tube of a plurality of tube segments which are connected to each other. The tube encloses a dielectric waveguide which is held by means of threads (filaments) at the center of the tube. The individual segments are tiltable and/or pivotable against each other, allowing bending and twisting of the waveguide cable.

    摘要: In one or more embodiments, circuitry is provided for isolation and communication of signals between circuits operating in different voltage domains using capacitive coupling. The capacitive coupling is provided by one or more capacitive structures having a breakdown voltage that is defined by way of the various components and their spacing. The capacitive structures each include three capacitive plates arranged to have two plates located in an upper layer and one plate located in a lower layer. A communication signal can be transmitted via the capacitive coupling created between the lower plate and each of the upper plates, respectively.

According to one embodiment, the RF thermal isolator includes a first transmission line; a second transmission line of nominally the same dimensions as the first transmission line and axially aligned with the first transmission line, wherein the ends of the transmission lines are separated by a gap having a width that is a very small fraction of the center operating wavelength of the transmission lines; and an electrically conductive sleeve electrically attached to the end of the first transmission line and surrounding the end of the second transmission line and separated from the second transmission line by a gap having a width that is a very small fraction of the center operating wavelength of the transmission lines; wherein the sleeve extends along the second transmission line from the end of the first transmission line for a distance of nominally ¼ of the center operating wavelength of the transmission lines.

    摘要: An aryl ester compound composed of a polyhydric phenol in which at least one OH group has been esterified with an organic acid or its derivatives having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, said polyhydric phenol being the condensation product of a phenolic compound represented by the general formula: 1 with a carbonyl compound represented by the general formula: 2 which aryl ester compound can give, when used as a curing agent for an epoxy resin, a cured product having a low dielectric constant and a low dielectric loss tangent; an epoxy resin composition comprising as the essential components an epoxy resin, said aryl ester compound and a cure accelerator; and a copper-clad laminate using the epoxy resin composition. The copper-clad laminate has a low dielectric constant and a low dielectric loss tangent and is excellent in adhesiveness as compared with conventional ones, and hence, is suitable for multilayer printed wiring board for high speed operation, especially at high-frequency region.

The device with a nonradiative dielectric waveguide is, for example, an oscillator, a circulator, a coupler or the like. The device has a pair of parallel conductors, a dielectric strip which is disposed between the conductors and propagates a high-frequency electromagnetic wave in a specified mode, a mounting surface which is formed on one of the conductors, and an end surface which is defined by an end of each of the conductors so as to be vertical to a traveling direction of the electromagnetic wave propagated in the dielectric strip. An end of the dielectric strip is exposed at a corresponding end surface of the device.

    摘要: An RF connector includes male and female connector components. The male component has a multi-diameter dielectric housing cylinder with a metal center conductor extending through an opening in the housing. The center pin extends from each end of the dielectric housing. The center pin and the dielectric housing are sized appropriately to provide a matched impedance at microwave frequencies for the use environment to which the male component is connected. The female connector component includes a dielectric body having a center cavity formed therein. A compressible wire bundle forming a compressible conductor member is recessed into the cavity. The compressible conductor protrudes from the far end of the female cavity allowing contact to a mating circuitry. The male connector component is assembled with the female component, the male center pin being brought into electrical contact with the compressible conductor member. The female connector component is not mechanically mounted to the next level of interconnect, but instead the protruding compressible conductor is brought into compressive electrical contact with a mating circuitry on the next interconnect level.
