    摘要: Techniques and architectures for managing radar sensor processing chains. A first high-frequency radio signal is received with a first RF receiver in the plurality of RF sensor suites on a host platform. The received high-frequency radio signal is converted to a lower second frequency range. A chirplet transform is performed on the signal in the second frequency range. Stored relative location information for a second RF receiver in the plurality of RF sensor suites is retrieved. Radar waveform information corresponding to the second RF receiver in a processing stream corresponding to the first RF receiver is extracted by utilizing the retrieved information and results from the chirplet transform. A point cloud is generated based on the converted signal in the second frequency range and the extracted radar waveform information.

The radar sensor circuit may receive a set of sensor data associated with a radar chirp signal. The radar sensor circuit may generate a set of range data associated with the set of sensor data, which may include first range data for a first range bin and second range data for a second range bin. The compression estimation circuit may determine a first compression ratio for the first range data and a second compression ratio for the second range data. The compression circuit may compress the first and second range data based on the first and second compression ratios respectively. The compressed first and second range data may be stored at the data storage circuit.

    摘要: An electronically steerable phased array and switching network connected to an FMCW radar transceiver to enable a low-cost monopulse tracking system that covers a wide field of regard using electronic beam steering. In a first mode, beamformer integrated circuits (BFICs) at each element in the array are switched synchronously with transmit/receive (T/R) switches located at the subarray level. This allows the entire aperture to be switched between transmission and reception, enabling the FMCW radar transceiver to be operated in a pulsed configuration. In a second mode, a portion of the T/R switches at the subarray level and all of the connecting BFICs at the element level are fixed in either transmitting or receiving mode, allowing separate portions of the aperture to concurrently transmit or receive. The arrangement of transmitting and receiving subarrays can be dynamically reconfigured to allow for accurate bearing and azimuth estimation using alternating monopulse.

In accordance with a second aspect of the present disclosure, a method of operating a radar unit is conceived, comprising: receiving, by a receiver circuit comprised in the radar unit, a radar signal; controlling, by a controller comprised in said radar unit, said receiver circuit, wherein said controller causes said receiver circuit to operate either in a complex receiver mode or in a real receiver mode.
