摘要: A cylindrical battery cell, a battery and a method for forming cylindrical battery cell are provided. In the cylindrical battery cell, a copper plate is forged with the cell housing to form a bi-metal plate on the bottom side of the cell housing, and the copper plate is welded with the jellyroll structure. Therefore, joining/welding the cell housing with the jellyroll structure is achieved by using a laser from outside of the cell housing, while risk of corrosion of cell housing is not introduced.

The minimum thickness of the weak area is A, and the minimum thickness of the non-weak area is B, satisfying 0.05≤A/B≤0.95.

摘要: A manufacturing method for providing a corrosion prevention layer on a cylindrical secondary battery including a jelly-roll type electrode assembly having a structure in which a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed therebetween are wound in one direction based on a winding axis, a battery can accommodating the electrode assembly and the battery can including a metal plated layer, and a connection lead plate joining the battery can and the electrode assembly, of which the method includes applying a resin to a portion where the metal plated layer is welded to the connection lead plate, and forming the corrosion prevention layer by curing the resin by ultraviolet rays. The resin includes one or more liquid materials. The one or more liquid materials are ultraviolet curable. The one or more liquid materials have a viscosity of 1 cP to 5000 cP.

The coating is electrically non-conductive but thermally conductive. The coated energy storage cell include an exposed positive electrode, an exposed negative electrode. A plurality of energy storage cells is located in a block having a plurality of compartments, wherein one cell of each of the plurality of energy storage cells is disposed in one of the plurality of compartments to provide an energy storage module.

摘要: An electrochemical cell is provided comprising a thin metal foil packaging made from at least one sheet of metal foil and having a perimeter extending around at least a portion of the electrochemical cell, as well as an electrochemical cell stack contained within the thin metal foil packaging, and a metal-to-metal welded seal around at least a portion of the perimeter of the thin metal foil packaging. The metal-to-metal welded seal is hermetic or nearly hermetic. Furthermore, the metal-to-metal welded seal is narrow, having a width of less than about 1 mm, and is less than about 5 mm away from the electrochemical cell stack. In some embodiments, the thin metal foil packaging functions not only as a hermetically or near hermetically sealed packaging, but also as either the negative or positive current collector, with one electrode of the cell bonded to the foil packaging. A method for making the foregoing electrochemical cell is also provided and involves using laser energy the metal-to-metal welded seal, wherein the laser energy is applied to the foil at high speed using a scanning laser.
