    Abstract: A protective electrical wiring device including: a plurality of line terminals including a first line terminal and a second line terminal; a plurality of load terminals including a first load terminal and a second load terminal, wherein the plurality of line terminals and the plurality of load terminals are configured to be coupled to an AC electrical distribution system; a pair of contacts including a first contact and a second contact; and a latch block being configured to move between a first position and a second position, wherein in the first position the latch block permits the first line terminal and the first load terminal to be in contact with the first contact and the second line terminal and second load terminal to be in contact with the second contact, wherein, when moving from the first position to the second position, the latch block advances at least one of the first line terminal and the first load terminal away from the first contact and at least one of the second line terminal and the second load terminal away from the second contact.

    Abstract: A relay state prediction device according to the present invention includes: a voltage value acquisition unit that measures every moment a detected voltage detected from two ends of a shunt resistor; a voltage value difference calculation unit that calculates a voltage value difference between a first voltage value of when the detected voltage becomes minimum by an armature starting displacement after a primary-side switch is turned off and a second voltage value of when secondary-side contacts are opened; a slope calculation unit that calculates a slope at which the voltage value difference decreases as the secondary-side contacts are repeatedly opened and closed in response to the primary-side switch repeatedly turning on and off; and a state prediction unit that predicts the number of openable and closable times from the present time until the voltage value difference reaches a predetermined threshold value based on the voltage value difference at the present time and the decreasing slope.

    Abstract: An electrical overload protection device for readily identifying and resetting a tripped circuit breaker includes a button, which is retained in depressed and extended configurations by a biaser. A first end and a second end of a plate spring are attached to the housing and the biaser, respectively. A bimetal strip, which is attached to and positioned in the housing, is reversibly deformable and thus bendable upon exposure to a specified current. Depressing the button contacts the biaser with the bimetal strip to complete an electrical circuit, which, should it exceed the specified current, bends the bimetal strip to actuate the plate spring to extend a shaft from the housing. The bending also disengages the biaser from the bimetal strip and breaks the electrical circuit. Depressing the shaft reverses deformation of the bimetal strip and reextends the button so it is again depressible to complete the electrical circuit.

    Abstract: A circuit breaker can include a light source, an optical sensor, a handle and a processor. The handle can be movable between different handle positions which correspond to different circuit breaker statuses. The handle can include a handle body and a light control plate which moves along with the handle body. The light control plate can have different light passage regions each of which is configured to be positioned between the light source and the optical sensor when the handle is moved to a corresponding one of the different handle positions. Each of the different light passage regions allows a different amount of light emitted from the light source to pass to the sensor when positioned between the light source and the sensor. The processor is configured to determine a status of the circuit breaker based on the sensed amount of light which relates to a position of the handle.
