    Abstract: A system, comprising: a conductor having a pair of primary surfaces, the conductor including a through-hole formed therein, the conductor including a first notch that is formed adjacent to the through-hole; and a printed circuit board that is inserted in the through-hole, the printed circuit board having a current sensor mounted thereon, the current sensor being disposed inside the through-hole, the current sensor including a first magnetic field sensing element and a second magnetic field sensing element having respective axes of maximum sensitivity that are substantially perpendicular to the primary surfaces of the conductor.

    Abstract: A magnetic sensor includes a magnetoresistive element having a sensitivity axis in a Y direction, a magnetic shield disposed apart in a Z direction from the magnetoresistive element and configured to attenuate the intensity of a magnetic field to be measured, and a magnetic balance coil. The magnetic shield includes a first shield part longitudinally extending in the X direction and second shield parts provided on either side of the first shield part. The first shield part has a portion that overlaps the magnetoresistive element when viewed in the Z direction. Each second shield part has a portion that overlaps the magnetoresistive element when viewed in the X direction. A magnetic path for a magnetic field in the X direction can be formed from one of the second shield parts to the other one of the second shield parts via the first shield part.

    Abstract: A packaged current sensor integrated circuit includes a primary conductor having an input portion and an output portion configured to carry a current to be measured by one or more magnetic sensing elements supported by a semiconductor die adjacent to the primary conductor. A method of fabricating the packaged current sensor integrated circuit includes partially encasing the lead frame in a first mold material, applying an insulator to one or more die attach pads, attaching a die to the insulator, electrically connecting the die to secondary leads, and providing a second mold to the subassembly. The package is configured to provide increased voltage isolation.

    Abstract: A system (60) that monitors and analyzes power consumption signals over time for household equipment (35). Equipment (35) may exhibit a representative operating signature. The system analytics may include determining a ‘normal’ operating signature for a piece of monitored equipment (35), which may include minimum and maximum expected ranges for different transition points or other characteristic points in the signature. The characteristic points may include points of minimum variability in magnitude. Based on monitoring the characteristic points, the system (60) may make a binary determination of “normal” or “abnormal.” That is, the system (60) may determine that an operational run of the equipment (35) is good or “potentially not good,” based on a comparison of the measured characteristics points to a normal operating signature. In response to a binary determination of abnormal, the system (60) may output a signal to alert user, a repair facility, or similar entity of the potential abnormal behavior.

The current sensor includes a pair of first lead terminals that is partially exposed outside of the encapsulating portion, is electrically connected to the conductor, inputs the measurement current to the conductor, and outputs the measurement current from the conductor; a metal member that is partially exposed outside the encapsulating portion and is spaced apart from the conductor; and a supporting portion that supports the at least one magnetoelectric conversion element, the signal processing IC, and the metal member on a first surface, is separated from the conductor, and is separate from the metal member.

    Abstract: A current detection device includes a plurality of current detection units arranged in the current detection device. Each of the current detection units includes a bus bar that enables a current to be measured to flow therethrough, a magnetic sensor disposed at a position facing the bus bar, and a pair of shields disposed so as to sandwich the bus bar and the magnetic sensor in a facing direction in which the bus bar and the magnetic sensor face each other. The bus bars of the plurality of current detection units extend so as to be aligned to one another and, as viewed in the facing direction, the positions of the shield and the magnetic sensor of each of the current detection units in an extension direction of the bus bars differ from the positions of the shield and the magnetic sensor of the adjacent current detection unit.
