Abstract: A protective electrical wiring device including: a plurality of line terminals including a first line terminal and a second line terminal; a plurality of load terminals including a first load terminal and a second load terminal, wherein the plurality of line terminals and the plurality of load terminals are configured to be coupled to an AC electrical distribution system; a pair of contacts including a first contact and a second contact; and a latch block being configured to move between a first position and a second position, wherein in the first position the latch block permits the first line terminal and the first load terminal to be in contact with the first contact and the second line terminal and second load terminal to be in contact with the second contact, wherein, when moving from the first position to the second position, the latch block advances at least one of the first line terminal and the first load terminal away from the first contact and at least one of the second line terminal and the second load terminal away from the second contact.

Abstract: An electronic wave switch device for controlling a load, the device comprising: a housing assembly including a front cover assembly having a user interface, a back body assembly dimensioned to fit within a standard sized NEMA wall box, and a plurality of terminals configured to be coupled to an AC power source and the load a mounting strap for connection to the standard sized NEMA wall box; and a circuit assembly disposed inside the housing assembly coupled to the plurality of terminals, the circuit assembly comprising a printed circuit board, the printed circuit board including a sensor coupled to a processor, wherein the sensor is configured to receive and detect an input stimulus in response to movement of an object a predetermined distance from the sensor, and wherein the processor is configured to propagate a switch actuation command in response to detecting the input stimulus.

Abstract: An electrical wiring device assembly having a uniform user facing surface that can be provided with a new electrical wiring device or retrofit to an existing wiring device. The surface is a sleeve that omits crevices, gaps, indentations and other irregularities that can collect and harbor harmful pathogens. The sleeve can be rigid or flexible and is coupled to the wiring device to allow a user to operate the wiring device, such as by allowing a user to move a toggle or paddle switch, while covering the user facing side of the wiring device.
