Abstract: Techniques for modifying operation of sensors using collected sensor data are provided herein. Sensor data describing a physical environment of a user authorized to access an access-controlled resource is collected according to an initial mode of operation. The initial mode of operation defines an initial performance for at least one sensor used to collect the sensor data. In response to detecting presence of a different user in the physical environment of the authorized user based on the sensor data, the at least one sensor is switched from the initial mode of operation to a modified mode of operation. The modified mode of operation is different than the initial mode of operation and defines a revised performance for the at least one sensor used to collect the sensor data.

Abstract: A motion sensor has at least two tiers of monitored volumes that are offset from each other. Electromagnetic radiation, such as infrared light, is directed from the monitored volumes onto at least two sets of detector elements having separate outputs on a pyroelectric substrate of an infrared detector. As a warm object, such as a human or an animal, moves through the monitored volumes, the warmth from the object causes the voltage on the outputs of the infrared detector to change. The resultant waveforms are compared and if the two waveforms have a phase relationship corresponding to a critical phase angle that is based on the pitch of the monitored volumes and the offset between the tiers of monitored volumes, an animal-immune motion indication is generated.

Abstract: A surveillance camera provided in embodiments of the present disclosure combines a pyroelectric infrared sensor and a Doppler radar detector into a movement detection module, therefore solving the technical problem that a surveillance is of low environmental adaptability and less accuracy in detecting a moving human body. The detection camera according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises a processor, a movement detection module, a video acquisition module, a storage module and a network module that are respectively connected with the processor. The movement detection module comprises a pyroelectric infrared sensor and a Doppler radar detector; the pyroelectric infrared sensor, upon detecting infrared image information, outputs a pyroelectric infrared signal; and the Doppler radar detector, upon detecting Doppler reflection image information, outputs a Doppler reflection signal.

Abstract: A system is provided that includes a security system that protects a secured area, a passive infrared (PIR) detector of the security system that detects intruders within the secured area, a pyroelectric element carried by the PIR detector, the pyroelectric element being tilted downwards towards a floor within the secured area to receive and detect a predominant portion of energy from an area extending outwards from the PIR detector and directly in front of the PIR detector and a relatively small portion of energy from a floor area directly below the PIR detector, and a pivoting door having first and second positions mounted below and directly adjacent the pyroelectric element, the door pivoting upwards to the first position where the relatively small portion of energy is blocked and pivoting downwards where the relatively small portion of energy is transmitted onto the pyroelectric element.

Abstract: A device may include a first infrared sensor, a second infrared sensor, a temperature detecting component, and an occupancy detecting component. The first infrared sensor may connect to the temperature detecting component through a first temperature signal path and the occupancy detecting component through a first occupancy signal path.
