摘要: A motion sensor includes an infrared detector with a first set of detector elements and a second set of detector elements. The motion sensor also includes an optical system to direct electromagnetic energy from a first row of monitored volumes spaced at a pitch in a first direction onto the first set of detector elements and to direct electromagnetic energy from a second row of monitored volumes spaced at the pitch in the first direction onto the second set of detector elements. The second row of monitored volumes has an offset from the first set of monitored volumes in the first direction and the first row of monitored volumes and second row of monitored volumes are substantially non-overlapping.

摘要: A motion sensor has at least two tiers of monitored volumes that are offset from each other. Electromagnetic radiation, such as infrared light, is directed from the monitored volumes onto at least two sets of detector elements having separate outputs on a pyroelectric substrate of an infrared detector. As a warm object, such as a human or an animal, moves through the monitored volumes, the warmth from the object causes the voltage on the outputs of the infrared detector to change. The resultant waveforms are compared and if the two waveforms have a phase relationship corresponding to a critical phase angle that is based on the pitch of the monitored volumes and the offset between the tiers of monitored volumes, an animal-immune motion indication is generated.

摘要: A lighting system includes a master lighting device, a control unit, and one or more slave lighting devices. The master lighting device includes a power input, a light emitting component, a memory device, a processor, and a network interface to communicate over a network. The memory device stores computer readable code that when executed by the processor, causes the master lighting device to receive a message that includes brightness information over the network, receive information regarding a characteristic of power received at the power input, control a brightness level of the light emitting component based on the brightness information and the information regarding the characteristic of the power, and send a message to the slave lighting devices to control their brightness level. The control unit includes a network interface send the message that includes the brightness information over the network.

An optical coupling mechanism is included to optically couple the light emitting device to the first phosphor and to optically decouple the light emitting device from the second phosphor in a first operating mode, and optically couple the light emitting device to the second phosphor in a second operating mode.

摘要: A motion sensor includes an infrared detector having a single linear array of at least four detector elements disposed on a substrate. The motion sensor also includes an optical system to simultaneously direct electromagnetic energy from two or more curtains of monitored volumes onto the linear array of detector elements. The two or more curtains of the monitored volumes having a tilt angle from a vertical orientation of the motion sensor to create a quadrature horizontal spatial relationship between the monitored volumes. Signals from the linear array of detector elements are then processed to detect a quadrature phase relationship between the signals, and an indication of human presence is provided if a quadrature phase relationship is found.

Intrusion detection circuitry is coupled to both channels of the infrared detector and selects a set of peaks in the first channel and the second channel. It then calculates an alternation score based on a number of alternating peaks in the set of peaks, and indicates an intrusion detection based, at least in part, on the alternation score. The circuitry also determines a peak-to-peak period for the first channel and calculates a slope-synchrony measurement to modify the alternation score.
