    摘要: A self-contained thermally actuated flow-control valve assembly comprises a base, an actuator, and a return member. The base has a longitudinal axis, a stop surface and a retention wall. The actuator has a generally cylindrical guide, a piston, a diaphragm, a thermally active pellet, and a generally cylindrical cup. The guide has an exterior surface on which a plurality of retention members are configured. The piston assembly is coaxial with the longitudinal axis. The generally cylindrical cup has a leading wall, a sidewall contiguous with the leading wall, and a trailing shoulder axially opposite the leading wall. The return member has axially opposed first and second ends. The first end engages the retention members and the second end engaging the base. The return member exerts a biasing force on the actuator axially towards said base. The actuator exerts a variable actuating force in a direction axially opposite the biasing force.

    摘要: A thermostatic element (1) comprises a thermoconductive cup (2) containing a thermo-expandable substance (3) and a piston (4), which is axially displaceable with respect to said cup by the action of the thermo-expandable substance produced during the expansion thereof. The guiding of the piston with respect to the cup and the sealing of the thermo-expandable substance are provided by the same arrangement of a single-piece holder (5) comprising a rigid insert (51) for guiding the piston which is embedded into a flexible envelop (52) impermeable to said thermo-expandable substance and is interposed between the insert, the piston and the cup. In order to provide a reliable sealing between the insert and the cup, including the case of assembling on an automatic line, the insert is provided with an abutment (51) which positions the single piece holder and projectingly extends towards the thermo-expandable substance away from the substantially flat part (51A) of the rest of the insert in a direction which is substantially parallel to the piston axis (X-X) and a space limited on the insert side oriented towards the thermo-expandable substance between the abutment and the flat part of the insert is filled with a corresponding part (52D) of the envelop which is pressed against the cup in a sealing manner.

    摘要: A thermal element of a simple structure which can have a reduced cost because a minimum required number of structural components are used, excels in response and endurance and enables forward and backward movement of a piston with the prescribed stroke under the effect of volume changes following the expansion and contraction of a thermally expandable body. A thermal element 10 containing a thermally expandable body (wax 12) inside a case 11 comprises a piston 13 arranged inside the case along the axial line thereof. The inward end of the piston borders on the inside of the thermally expandable body and the outward end thereof protrudes outwardly from one end of the case, thereby enabling the piston to move forward and backward following the expansion and contraction of the thermally expandable body. The piston is slidably held with a guide member 14 disposed in a portion at one end inside the case. Furthermore, a sealing member 15 is disposed in a portion at the inward end of the guide member inside the case and seals the thermally expandable body at the other end inside the case.

    摘要: A thermostatic control valve has an expansion composition held in a cavity thereof. The composition contains electrical conductor particles dispersed throughout an electrical isolator. The particles conduct electrical current through the isolator when the electrical isolator has a volumetric size that is less than a predetermined expanded volume. When the isolator expands to the predetermined expanded volume, the distance between the particles is increased to the extend that the electrical current cannot be conducted.

The seal bag has a base portion and a bag portion, and is engaged with the rod only at the base portion to form a gap between the bag portion and the rod. The gap is charged with lubricating oil. The sealing member has a tubular body, a skirt portion, a closed head portion, and a plurality of annular grooves formed in an inner wall of the body. The base portion is secured to the guide member, and the head portion is engaged with an end of the second end portion of the rod.
