A method and a system for sensing fine changes in processing/equipment measurement data are provided. A data change sensing method according to an embodiment of the present invention extracts a part on the basis of a statistical distribution of reference data and comparison data, calculates a target range on the basis of a specification, and discriminates data, included in the target range, among the extracted reference data and comparison data so as to determine data changes. Therefore, fine changes in measurement data for processing or equipment can be sensed in a manufacturing process, thereby enabling pre-estimation of potential quality variability of products and quick preemptive actions for preventing quality degradation.

A set of original model candidates are first grouped into pairs of original model candidates. A pair of child model candidates is generated for each of the pairs of original model candidates by performing mutation, crossover, or both on the each of the pairs of original model candidates. From the original model candidates and the child model candidates, a set of new model candidates are derived, which includes pairing, based on a similarity function, each child model candidate with one of the corresponding original model candidates; selecting one or both of the model candidates in each of the parent-child pairs based on the similarity function and an objective function as new model candidates; and performing niche clearing to keep a number of the new model candidates in each of niches from exceeding a maximum number. The grouping, generating and deriving operations are then iterated.

A parameter table containing parameter values is employed to evaluate parameters and arithmetic expressions during the execution of a part program, and means is provided which enables parameter values to be changed by part program instructions or manual data entry. Macroprograms, such as canned cycles, are stored in the numerical control system in a generalized form in which their instructions contain parameters and arithmetic expressions in lieu of constants. Prior to calling such a macroprogram, the part program assigns suitable values to the parameters employed in the macroprogram.
