摘要: The present disclosure discloses an apparatus and a method for detecting first and subsequent drops of follicle fluid falling into a test tube during an aspiration process. A pair of optical devices (emitter and detector) is positioned at opposite side of the test tube. The emitter emits a beam of light towards the detector. As soon as a drop of the follicle fluid falls into the test tube, a signal processing circuitry detects a change in intensity of the light received by the detector. Further, the intensity of beam is compared with a pre-defined intensity. Based on the comparison, if the difference between the pre-defined intensity and intensity is greater than a pre-defined threshold value, the signal processing circuitry generates an electrical signal indicating the detection of the first drop of the follicle fluid falling into the test tube.

摘要: A system for determining the amount of LC that is dropped on a display panel is presented. The system can adjust the amount of the LC to be dropped based on a real-time feedback on the amount of LC that is currently being dropped. The amount of LC that is being dropped is detected by utilizing a light source and a CCD camera. Because LC is not consumed wastefully and the detection interval is shortened with this system, the amount of LC that is dropped can be controlled more accurately and manufacturing cost is reduced.

摘要: A weather identification system is provided for remotely detecting precipitation and for determining the nature of precipitation in an open environment, as at an aircraft landing field. The system employs an optical transmitter and receiver, wherein particles of precipitation passing through a light beam from the transmitter cause scintillations which are detected at the receiver. A drastic reduction in spatial separation between the light transmitter and receiver makes possible the use of a partially coherent light beam in place of a conventional laser beam. The transmitter and receiver are spaced apart a distance of approximately one meter, and the product of one half of the angle of incoherency multiplied by the spatial separation between the transmitter and receiver is no greater than about 2.5 millimeters. Rain passing through the light beam produces scintillations with substantial frequency components above one kilohertz. Snow induced frequencies are primarily below a few hundred hertz. The receiver is coupled to an automatic gain control means and a signal processor. By measuring the spectrum energy in various frequency bands, and by comparing the ratios of the measurements, the existence of precipitation may be ascertained and the type of precipitation can be identified remotely.

摘要: A photometer head having a housing for receiving and supporting small test volumes. The housing includes a recess and a plate for substantially covering the recess. A light transmitter and a light receiver having first and second end surfaces are mounted within the housing and project into the recess at locations substantially opposite one another to define a gap between the first and second end surfaces for retaining the small test volumes. A liquid applicator extends through an aperture in the housing to dispense droplets of liquid test volumes into the gap. The light transmitter directs optical energy at the droplets and the light receiver receives the transmitted energy.
