摘要: A technology liquefies natural gas. The natural gas liquefaction method pre-cools treated natural gas by ethane evaporation, sub-cools liquefied gas using cooled nitrogen as a refrigerant, reduces liquefied gas pressure, separates non-liquefied gas and diverts liquefied natural gas. Before pre-cooling the natural gas is compressed, ethane is evaporated during the multi-stage pre-cooling of liquefied gas with simultaneous evaporation of ethane using cooled ethane as a refrigerant. Ethane generated by evaporation is compressed, condensed and used as a refrigerant during the cooling of liquefied gas and nitrogen, with nitrogen being compressed, cooled, expanded and fed to the natural gas sub-cooling stage. The natural gas liquefaction unit contains a natural gas liquefaction circuit, an ethane circuit and a nitrogen circuit. The natural gas liquefaction circuit includes a natural gas compressor, a cooler unit, ethane vaporizers, a closed-end subcooling heat exchanger, and a separator, connected in series.

摘要: A blast furnace facility includes a process for capturing and sequestering CO2 generated from the facility process, generating hydrogen from hot blast furnace gas, and using blast furnace gas as methanol feed. The CO2 rich streams from the facility are sent to sequestration of some form via a sequestration compressor, thereby reducing the overall emissions from the facility. The other products generated by the facility are used as methanol feedstock and to produce hydrogen.

摘要: An arrangement for liquefying natural gas is provided. The arrangement includes a gas turbine unit that includes a gas turbine compressor, a steam turbine unit, a first compressor unit, a shiftable clutch, a heated steam generator for supplying steam to the steam turbine unit, and a second compressor unit. The steam turbine unit and the first compressor unit have a common, rigidly connected first shaft assembly, while the gas turbine unit and the second compressor unit have a common, rigidly connected second shaft assembly. In order to increase economic efficiency, the first shaft assembly and the second shaft assembly are operable to be connected to and disconnected from each other using the clutch. A suitable method for starting said arrangement is also provided.

摘要: A method and system for cooling a process fluid is disclosed. An inlet air stream of a turbine is cooled with an inlet air cooling system. Moisture contained in the cooled inlet air stream is condensed and separated from the cooled inlet air stream to produce a water stream in an open-loop circuit. The water stream is sprayed into an air cooler air stream. The combined air cooler air stream and sprayed water stream is directed through an air cooler. Heat is exchanged between the process fluid and the combined air cooler air stream and sprayed water stream to thereby condense, chill, or sub-cool the process fluid.

摘要: A refrigerant circuit includes a first compression stage for compressing a mixed refrigerant gas, the first compression stage including at least a first compressor body and a second parallel compressor body, each compressor body including a suction inlet and an outlet, a first distribution means for splitting the flow of refrigerant gas to the first stage of compression across the at least two parallel compressor bodies, such that a first stream of refrigerant gas is fed to the suction inlet of the first compressor body and a second stream of refrigerant gas is fed to the suction inlet of the second compressor body, a second compression stage for compressing the mixed refrigerant gas, and a first merging means for recombining the first stream of refrigerant gas with the second stream of refrigerant gas downstream of the first compression stage for delivery to the second compression stage.

摘要: A method for producing liquefied natural gas (LNG). A natural gas stream is directed to a mechanical refrigeration unit to liquefy the natural gas stream and form a pressurized liquefied natural gas (LNG) stream with a pressure greater than 50 psia (345 kPa) and less than 500 psia (3445 kPa). A liquid refrigerant subcooling unit is provided at a first location. Liquid refrigerant is produced at a second location that is geographically separate from the first location. The produced liquid refrigerant is transported to the first location. The pressurized LNG stream is subcooled in the liquid refrigerant subcooling unit by exchanging heat between the pressurized LNG stream and at least one stream of the liquid refrigerant to thereby produce an LNG stream.

摘要: A method of processing natural gas to produce liquefied natural gas using a consolidated refrigeration and liquefaction module. The natural gas is cooled in a first array of one or more heat exchangers using a first refrigerant from a first refrigerant circuit, wherein the first refrigerant is compressed in a first compressor. A second refrigerant from a second refrigerant circuit is compressed in a second compressor. The second refrigerant is cooled and partially condensed using the first refrigerant in a second array of one or more heat exchangers located in the consolidated refrigeration and liquefaction module. The partially condensed second refrigerant is separated into liquid and vapor phases using a refrigerant separator located in the consolidated refrigeration and liquefaction module. The natural gas is liquefied to produce LNG in a third array of one or more heat exchangers using the vapor and liquid phases of the partially condensed second refrigerant.

Specifically, the present disclosure relates to systems and methods for condensing a pressurized gaseous working fluid, such as natural gas, using at least one turboexpander in combination with other cooling devices and techniques. In one embodiment, a turboexpander may be used in combination with a heat exchanger using vapor compression refrigeration to condense natural gas.

摘要: Apparatus for compressing gaseous refrigerant for use in a refrigeration circuit of a liquefaction plant comprises a refrigeration circuit (1) and two compressors (10, 20) that are functionally connected to the refrigeration circuit. One of the compressors is provided with a double suction configuration, and the outlets and the inlets of the first and second compressors are connected at least partly in a mutually parallel flow configuration such that the refrigerant flow that leaves the refrigeration circuit from a plurality of outlets thereof is distributed between the two compressors before joining at the inlet of the refrigeration circuit.
