Abstract: A rotor assembly includes a rotation axis, a propeller, an active ring, a driver link, and a reciprocating spring. The propeller includes a hub portion and fan blades. The hub portion is located on one end of the rotation axis, and the inner sidewall of the hub portion has a gear structure surrounding the rotation axis. The active ring sleeves on the rotation axis. The driver link is pivotally connected to the active ring. The reciprocating spring is telescopically disposed on the active ring and abuts against the driver link. When the rotation axis drives the active ring to rotate, the driver link abuts against the gear structure of the hub portion and compresses the reciprocating spring. When the rotation axis stops rotating, the reciprocating spring returns to an initial position to push the driver link to separate from the gear structure.

The torque-transmission loop may be engaged with the driven wheel and a selected one of the first and second drive wheels.

Abstract: A power tool is provided having a motor and a motor shaft, wherein a fan wheel in the power tool is designed to generate an air flow for cooling the motor. The power tool provides a coupling formed magnetically between the fan wheel and the motor shaft such that the motor shaft drives the fan wheel in a rotary movement with a speed that is less than a speed of the motor shaft. As a result of the magnetic coupling of the fan wheel and motor shaft, the movements of the two components can be decoupled from one another such that an increase in the rotational speed of the motor shaft does not also result in an increased speed at the fan wheel. As a result, fan losses can be considerably reduced and the efficiency of the motor of the power tool can be significantly improved. A method is also provided for cooling a motor of a power tool, wherein there is a magnetic coupling between a fan wheel and a motor shaft of the power tool.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described including a left ventricular assist device. The left ventricular assist device includes an impeller configured to be placed inside a subject's left ventricle, and to pump blood from the subject's left ventricle to the subject's aorta, by rotating. A frame is disposed around the impeller. A tube traverses the subject's aortic valve, such that a proximal portion of the tube is disposed within the subject's aorta and a distal portion of the tube is disposed within the subject's left ventricle. The distal portion of the tube defines one or more blood inlet openings that are configured to allow blood to flow from the subject's left ventricle into the tube. A braided element is configured to prevent inner structures of the left ventricle from passing into the one or more blood inlet openings. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a fan section that includes a fan with fan blades. The fan section drives air along a bypass flow path in a bypass duct. A gear reduction is in driving engagement with the fan and has a gear reduction ratio of greater than 3.0 and less than 4.0. A low spool includes a low pressure turbine that drives a low pressure compressor and drives the gear reduction to drive the fan at a speed slower than the low pressure turbine. The low pressure compressor includes a greater number of stages than the low pressure turbine. A high spool includes a high pressure turbine that drives a high pressure compressor. The high pressure compressor is a nine stage high pressure compressor and includes a pressure ratio per stage of greater than or equal to 1.20 and less than or equal to 1.33.
