    摘要: In one embodiment, a cryocooler drive circuit for a cryocooler motor is provided that includes: a first switching power converter configured to track a first sinusoidal input voltage signal to provide a first sinusoidal output voltage signal at a first output node; and a second switching power converter configured to track a second sinusoidal input voltage signal to provide a second sinusoidal output voltage signal at a second output node, wherein the second sinusoidal input voltage signal is an inverted version of the first sinusoidal input voltage signal such that the cryocooler motor is driven by an alternating current flowing between the first and second output nodes.

    摘要: The size of a miniature cryocooler (100) operating on the Stirling refrigeration cycle is further reduced by shortening a first thermal regenerator module (R) disposed on a cold side of a thermal barrier (T) and providing a second thermal regenerator module (R1) disposed on a warm side of the thermal barrier (T). A thermally insulated fluid flow passage (172) is disposed to interconnect the first and second regenerator modules to thermally insulate the fluid passage (172). In combination, the first and second regenerator modules provide 100% thermal regenerator effectiveness in the device.

    摘要: A helium management control system for controlling the helium refrigerant supply from a common manifold supplies cryogenic refrigerators with an appropriate helium supply. The system employs sensors to monitor and regulate the overall refrigerant supply to deliver an appropriate refrigerant supply to each of the cryogenic refrigerators depending on the computed aggregate cooling demand of all of the cryogenic refrigerators. An appropriate supply of helium is distributed to each cryopump by sensing excess and sparse helium and redistributing refrigerant accordingly. If the total refrigeration supply exceeds the demand, or consumption, excess refrigerant is directed to cryogenic refrigerators which can utilize the excess helium to complete a current cooling function more quickly. If the total refrigeration demand exceeds the total refrigeration supply, the refrigerant supply to some or all of the cryogenic refrigerators will be reduced accordingly so that detrimental or slowing effects are minimized based upon the current cooling function.

    摘要: A system includes a cryocooler configured to cool an object, a sensor configured to measure a temperature of the object, and a controller configured to generate an actuator drive signal to control the cryocooler based on at least one temperature measurement from the sensor. The cryocooler includes a heat exchanger and a needle configured to control flow of coolant gas through the heat exchanger. The cryocooler also includes a motion rod configured to move the needle and an actuator assembly configured to move the motion rod to thereby move the needle. The actuator could include a motor and a gear head configured to rotate a lead screw and a lead screw nut located around the lead screw and configured to translate rotational motion of the lead screw into linear motion. The actuator could also include a piezoelectric actuator or a linear actuator.
