摘要: The cryostat may include an inner vessel configured to accommodate one or more superconducting coils, an outer vessel encompassing the inner vessel, and a thermal shield configured between the outer vessel and the inner vessel. The thermal shield may include an internal cylinder having a first end and an external cylinder encompassing the internal cylinder, the external cylinder having a second end. The thermal shield may also include a seal head configured between the internal cylinder and the external cylinder, the seal head having a first edge and a second edge. The thermal shield may further include a connecting component including a plurality of connectors. Each of the plurality of connectors may be configured to connect the first end of the internal cylinder with the first edge of the seal head and/or the second end of the external cylinder with the second edge of the seal head.

摘要: A cryocooler assembly including at least one remotely driven cryocooler operable between an ON-state of operation and an OFF-state of operation and defining a first stage of the cryocooler assembly. A liquefaction cup in fluidic communication with a cryogenic fluid reservoir, wherein a plurality of conduits thermally couple the liquefaction cup to the fluid reservoir and define a second stage of the cryocooler assembly. The cryocooler assembly further including one or more of a valve, a gas/liquid switch, an actuating support arm and a heat pipe coupled to the second stage of the cryocooler assembly to remotely disconnect a heat path generated by the at least one remotely driven cryocooler between the first stage and the second stage during the OFF-state of operation. A superconducting generator including at least one remotely driven cryocooler assembly and method of operating a cooling assembly for a superconducting generator utilizing at least one remotely driven cryocooler assembly are disclosed.

摘要: Heat regenerators and related methods enable heat transfer in an embedded structure of a heat regenerator. The heat regenerators enable a reduction of the pressure drop due to fluid flow through the heat regenerator and consequently an increase of power density. A heat regenerator includes a housing having a primary hot heat exchanger and a primary cold heat exchanger between elements for the oscillation of a primary fluid. The secondary fluid unidirectionally flows from the heat sink into the primary cold heat exchanger. The secondary fluid exits from the primary cold heat exchanger and unidirectionally flows towards the heat source. The secondary fluid S enters the primary hot heat exchanger and exits as the unidirectional flow of the secondary fluid S of the primary hot heat exchanger towards the heat sink. Between both primary heat exchangers, the porous regenerative material is positioned as part of the regenerator.

摘要: Multi-spectral methods and systems for the day and night remote sensing (detection, identification, and quantification) of greenhouse gas emission sources from space are provided. The sensor system includes a telescope assembly that passively collects light from an observation area and directs that light through spectral, optical filters and to a sensor array having a plurality of rows and columns of pixels. Different groups of sensor array pixel rows are aligned to receive light that has passed through different optical filters. The filters have passbands corresponding to the reflective and emissive bands of gases of interest, as well as associated reflective and emissive reference bands, and broadband spectral bands. A set of image data frames is obtained as the field of view of the sensor system moves over an observation area and an aggregate image showing locations of detected gas emissions is generated using the collected data.

The stationary magnetic assembly and the movable magnetic assembly are configured such that, when the moving assembly is displaced along the longitudinal axis from an equilibrium position, attractive and repulsive forces between the movable magnetic assembly and the stationary magnetic assembly yield a restoring force that is directed to restore the moving assembly to the equilibrium position.

摘要: A dilution refrigerator, such as for a quantum computing system, includes a cryostat having a plurality of temperature-controlled flanges inside a vacuum chamber. A dilution unit is disposed inside the cryostat and operable to cool a first group of the flanges. A continuous flow helium refrigerator is in heat transfer communication with a lowest temperature flange of a second group of flanges, disposed at progressively lower temperatures that are greater than those of the first group of flanges, to provide primary cooling thereto to a first temperature. The continuous flow helium refrigerator resides at least partially in the cryostat and includes a helium liquefier and a first closed-loop circuit thermally coupling the helium liquefier to the lowest temperature flange of the second group of flanges. The helium liquefier provides liquid helium to the lowest temperature flange of the second group of flanges via the first closed-loop circuit.
