摘要: Systems and methods are provided for a software defined optical time-domain reflectometer (SD-OTDR) using high-speed optical transceiver modules. Enabled by the reconfigurable computing resource, an SD-OTDR in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure can realize in-situ diagnostics of optical fiber without adding any overhead to existing systems. In addition, an SD-OTDR in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure can also be used for high-resolution distributed sensing. Additionally, an SD-OTDR in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure can directly map optical reflections at different locations along the length of a fiber to a processing element array in a Field-Programmable Gate Array for real-time in-sensor parallel data processing.

摘要: A system for joining movably coupled modules comprising modular elements and attachable components, including a male end adapted to join a single-piece female end by rotating the male end into the single-piece female end such that data bus terminals align and power bus terminals align. The system can be assembled from these modular elements and components to meet desired mission and performance characteristics without the need to purchase specially designed systems for each mission. The joints connecting the modules are designed such that power and data connections between modules are reliably made.

摘要: A line-handling retrofit kit for improving a submersible conveyance includes a mounting skid, a pair of storage containers, respective pliable caps for the storage containers, a line, and a hook configured to be held in a gripper. A respective pliable cap covers a mouth of each storage container and applies a drag on the line passing through an aperture in the respective pliable cap. The pair of storage containers are symmetrically arranged on the mounting skid with an in-between space. The in-between space aligns with an opening in the mounting skid and enables sensing through both the opening and the in-between space. The line is storable within the storage containers. The line has a first and second end, with the first end affixable to the submersible conveyance or the mounting skid. The hook is affixed to the second end of the line.

摘要: Described herein are ultra-thin nanocellulose flexible electronic device on which SU-8, an epoxy material which can become highly stressed upon UV exposure, is printed on desired areas. Upon UV exposure and then release from the surface it is anchored on, the nanocellulose device will spontaneously self-mold into a desired form due to stress differences between the SU-8 and the nanocellulose sheet. The flexible electronics can be manufactured using standard printed circuit board processing techniques, including electroless metallization and soldering of surface mount components.
