Abstract: A hydraulic actuator system of an aircraft includes a hydraulic actuator having a housing with a piston having a piston shaft with a piston head attached thereto and arranged within the housing. The piston head divides in internal volume of the housing into an extend cavity and a retract cavity and the extend cavity is configured to be connected to low pressure fluid source. The system also includes a pressure selector unit fluidly connected to the retract cavity and configured to be connected to the low pressure fluid source and to a high pressure fluid source. The unit include three solenoids with the first and second connected in parallel to the fluid sources and the third solenoid having a third solenoid first input connected to the first solenoid output, a third solenoid second input connected to the second solenoid output, and a third solenoid output connected to the retract cavity.

Abstract: A hydraulic valve assembly includes a first spool valve and a first selector valve for actuating a first hydraulic consumer port or a second hydraulic consumer port, and a second spool valve and a second selector valve for actuating a third hydraulic consumer port or a fourth hydraulic consumer port. A shut-off valve is arranged in a common pressure channel. A branch channel with first and second pressure branch channels branches off the pressure channel upstream of the shut-off valve. The first selector valve connects the first pressure branch channel to a first connection line in a first switching position and connects the second pressure branch channel to a second connection line in a second switching position. The second selector valve, in a first switching position, connects the first connection line to the control channel and, in a second switching position, connects the second connection line to the control channel.

Abstract: A system for recovering energy from a hydraulic actuator and to a method of operating the system are described. The system may have a hydraulic actuator and a source of hydraulic pressure, comprising a hydraulic pump, in fluid communication with the hydraulic actuator for pressurizing the hydraulic actuator. The system may also have a hydraulic accumulator assembly for selectively absorbing energy from the hydraulic actuator or via the hydraulic actuator. The system may also have a first one-way valve configured to provide fluid communication between the hydraulic actuator and the hydraulic accumulator assembly. The first one-way valve may be configured to permit a flow of fluid through the first one-way valve from the hydraulic actuator to the hydraulic accumulator assembly. The first one-way valve may also be configured to block a flow of fluid through the first one-way valve from the hydraulic accumulator assembly to the hydraulic actuator.

Abstract: A hydraulic pump radiant noise reduction method for a forklift or other work machine is disclosed. The method includes initiating a noise control algorithm that is enabled during periods when the displacement of the hydraulic pump remains in the zero displacement position and an operator is not demanding flow from any of the hydraulic branch circuits. When the noise control algorithm is enabled, the control valve assembly associated with the hydraulic branch circuit having the lowest hydraulic fluid pressure in relation to the hydraulic fluid pressures of all other hydraulic branch circuits is opened while the remaining control valve assemblies are in held or placed in a closed position. In an alternative embodiment, a drain valve assembly is provided that is opened when the noise control algorithm is activated.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for driving a boom of a construction machine, allowing required power to be reduced. The apparatus includes a boom cylinder, a variable-displacement hydraulic pump , a control valve guiding hydraulic oil discharged by the hydraulic pump to the boom cylinder, a boom-raising-operation detector boom-cylinder pressure detectors, a supply selector valve switchable between a permitting position for permitting the hydraulic oil to be supplied from the hydraulic pump a head-side chamber of the boom cylinder and a blocking position for blocking the supply, a supply oil passage permitting hydraulic oil to be supplied to the head-side chamber during the blocking, and a controller which brings the supply selector valve into the blocking position and reduces volume of the hydraulic pump upon judging that excavation reaction force extends the boom cylinder even with no supply of hydraulic oil from the hydraulic pump to the head-side chamber.
