摘要: A rod for a piston and cylinder device has a rod spud having a spiral channel in an outer surface thereof. The spiral channel spirals around the rod spud in a longitudinal direction. The spiral channel provides a hydraulic fluid flow path between an internal volume of a barrel and an internal volume of a spud receiver of the piston and cylinder device when the rod spud is in the spud receiver. At least a portion of the spiral channel has a cross-sectional area that decreases continuously and gradually as the spiral channel spirals longitudinally away from a distal end of the rod spud. The spiral channel provides more controlled deceleration of the hydraulic cylinder rod until the end of the retraction stroke.

摘要: A spool valve for controlling the flow of a fluid into a reciprocating piston cylinder. A spool is slideably inserted into an outer casing, the spool valve having a first and a second non-waisted end portions and having a waisted middle portion. The casing has an intake port and output port for fluids entering and exiting the casing. A first non-waisted end portion covers the intake port during a first valve-closed event as the spool slides in one direction within the casing. The waisted middle portion is sufficiently wide to uncover both the intake port and the output port during a valve-open event as the spool slides in one direction within the casing. A second non-waisted end portion covers the output port during a second valve-closed event as the spool slides in the same one direction within the casing.

摘要: A working cylinder has a cushioned end-stroke. The piston unit has a piston main part and a ring body. The exterior of the ring body receives a piston ring with a piston ring gap, and the ring opening of the ring body receives a guiding pin of the piston main part. A ring gap is formed between the ring body and the guiding pin, and the ring body has axial and radial play relative to the piston main part. The ring body has an axial ring surface on the piston main part side, and the piston main part has an axial counter ring surface on the ring body side opposite the axial ring surface. The piston unit is constructed so that during an inward movement into the cushioning zone, the piston ring passes axially over the pressure medium connection and the piston unit encloses a damping pressure medium volume. The piston unit is in a first operating state during an inward movement and a second operating state during an outward movement. In the first operating state, the axial ring surface and the axial counter ring surface lie against each other and define a seal plane the piston ring gap is configured for a throttled outflow of the damping pressure medium volume. In the second operating state, the axial ring surface and the axial counter ring surface have an axial gap for a pressure medium inflow.

摘要: In an exemplary method of monitoring performance of a fluid driven actuator for a valve, pressurized fluid is supplied through an actuator supply line to an inlet port of the actuator during a first time period to operate the actuator from a normal position to an actuated position. Pressure changes corresponding to a fluid flow condition in the actuator supply line are measured during the first time period, with the measured pressure changes defining a valve cycle pressure profile including a first inflection point corresponding to movement of the actuator from the normal position to the actuated position. The valve cycle pressure profile is analyzed to identify a non-compliant condition in at least one of the valve and the actuator. An output communicating the identified non-compliant condition is then generated.

摘要: A single acting actuator for an aircraft landing gear assembly is disclosed having a piston mounted in a cavity and moveable relative to a housing between a retracted position and an extended position, the piston dividing the cavity into first and second pressure chambers. At least one of the pressure chambers is associated with first and second outlets, with the actuator being arranged such that, in respect of the relative movement in which the pressure chamber is the decreasing volume pressure chamber, in a first stage of the relative movement the first and second outlets are open thereby allowing actuator fluid to flow out of the pressure chamber through the first and second outlets and in a second stage of the relative movement the second outlet is open but the first outlet is closed, thereby acting to slow the relative movement of the piston with respect to the housing.
