Abstract: An apparatus and method for hydraulically powering at least one consumer of a hydraulic system of an aircraft is disclosed including a first electrical power source and a first electrically driven motor pump (MPU1) electrically powered by the first electrical power source, a second electrical power source and a second electrically driven motor pump (MPU2) electrically powered by the second electrical power source (B), and a hydraulic power generation control which controls a supply of electrical energy from the first and second electrical power sources to the first and second motor pumps (MPU1, MPU2). A method is disclosed for determining the actual available electrical power (APA, APB) of each of the first and second electrical power sources and to set a load factor (UPA, UPB) of each motor pump in order to share a load to generate hydraulic power demanded from the at least one consumer between the first and second motor pumps.

Abstract: A vehicle includes: a prime mover; a hydraulic fluid manifold; a hydraulic machine; a hydraulic accumulator; one or more hydraulic actuators; a valve arrangement; and a controller. The controller is configured to receive an actuator demand signal indicative of a demand to move the one or more hydraulic actuators; and to control the hydraulic machine and the valve arrangement to cause movement of the one or more actuators in accordance with the actuator demand signal by bringing the hydraulic accumulator into fluid communication with a first actuator chamber of the one or more hydraulic actuators, and to synchronise therewith changing a pressure in a second actuator chamber of the one or more hydraulic actuators. The second actuator chamber is in fluid communication with the hydraulic machine.

The flow-path selector valve has a first position for a single operation state and a second position for a combined operation state, configured to, at the first position, form a first flow path connected to a first pump, a second flow path connected to a second pump, and a connecting flow path providing communication between the first flow path and the second flow path. Abstract: A drum drive system includes a controller configured to selectively control an engine, a variable displacement pump, and a variable displacement motor of a vehicle to provide a target drum speed for a drum of the vehicle. To provide the target drum speed, the controller is configured to: (i) initially operate the variable displacement motor at a maximum motor displacement and operate the variable displacement pump at a pump displacement that provides the target drum speed without needing to actively manipulate an engine speed of the engine; (ii) increase the pump displacement and decrease a motor displacement without needing to actively manipulate the engine speed while still providing the target drum speed; and (iii) increase the engine speed in response to the pump displacement reaching a maximum pump displacement and the motor displacement reaching a minimum motor displacement if necessary to maintain the target drum speed.
