The logical judgment module receives signals from the maximum dwell timer module and the comparator to determine whether to activate the insulated gate bipolar transistor. The output end of the insulated gate bipolar transistor is connected to the module signal output end.

    摘要: In order to reduce the amount of ignition energy supplied to an ignition coil during low speed operation of the engine, an electronic circuit is provided to regulate the open time of the ignition circuit to be constant in an upper engine speed domain and to then obey a predetermined characteristic in the mid-range. The mid-range control is gradually made ineffective at lower engine speeds where the open ignition interval is determined by speed as measured by the duty cycle of the engine ignition transducer. The change of characteristics is obtained with the aid of a control voltage source which generates a speed dependent control voltage causing the discharge time of a capacitor to be extended at low engine speeds and causing the termination of the open time of the ignition to be determined by the transducer output signal.

    摘要: An apparatus and process for diagnosis or control of the ignition or load state of a two or four cycle internal combustion engine. A generator rotating synchronously with the engine generates alternating voltages which are scanned by a control and the alternating voltage amplitudes correspond to the rotational speed of the engine. The control detects at least one of the voltage amplitudes each revolution and, based upon the detected amplitude, calculates a control or diagnosis value, sets one or more flags and/or triggers a control event at an ignition control and/or data output.

    摘要: In order to optimize the on/off ratio of the output switch in an electronic ignition system in which a monostable multivibrator is triggered by rpm-dependent transducer pulses, the time constant of the multivibrator may be changed by altering the discharging characteristics of its timing capacitor. A current-limiting circuit senses the current through the output switch and applies a signal to a circuit point which controls the discharging rate of the timing capacitor. The current-limiting circuit also prevents further increases in the primary coil current when a limiting value is reached.

    摘要: An ignition system for an internal combustion engine comprises a direct-current supply, at least one spark plug, an ignition coil with a primary winding and a secondary winding for connection to the supply and to the at least one plug, respectively, a first electronic switch between the primary winding and the supply, an inductor between the supply and the primary winding of the coil, a capacitor in parallel with the circuit branch including the primary winding and the first switch, a second electronic switch between the inductor and the supply and adapted to disconnect the circuit downstream of the inductor from the supply in its closed condition, and an electronic unit which controls the first and second switches in a predetermined manner. The first switch is constituted by a thyristor and, when the current flowing in the thyristor is to be cut off, the electronic control unit closes the second electronic switch and then reopens it after a time sufficient to allow the current flowing in the thyristor to fall below a predetermined value.
