摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide a grease composition which has little influence on the environment and has good rust prevention and water resistance against salt water such as sea water. The grease composition comprises a biodegradable base oil and a rust-preventive agent comprising a calcium sulfonate complex and a sorbitan fatty acid ester, wherein a total content of biodegradable organic substances in the grease composition is 75% by mass or more, and wherein a content of the rust-preventive agent is 2.5 to 30% by mass.

The ester-terminated oligomer has the general formula: “R1—O—[CO—R2—CO—NH—R3—NH—CO—R2—CO]n—O—R1”. “R1” each independently represent a hydrocarbon group containing 4-22 carbon atoms. “R2” represents a hydrocarbon group containing 4-42 carbon atoms. “R3” represents a hydrocarbon group containing 2-9 carbon atoms. “n” represents an integer in the range of 1-20. A method for preparing the present grease composition. The present grease composition can be used for (a) lubricating a mechanical component having a metal surface and (b) protecting a mechanical component having a metal surface against corrosion, wear and/or fretting.

摘要： To prevent nuisance marine growth in a valve, particularly a ball valve, used to regulate a flow of seawater, a compound for lubricating and preventing nuisance marine growth is provided in the valve. The nuisance marine growth preventing compound includes a substantially uniform mixture of marine grease and an antifouling agent. The compound is introduced into the valve such that the compound is provided between and contacts a valve body and a ball that regulates the flow of seawater within the valve, and inhibits nuisance marine growth at a space between the ball and the valve body which is occupied by the compound.
