Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to polymers which contain a hydrophobic and hydrophilic segment which is sensitive to pH. In some aspects, the polymers form a micelle which is sensitive to pH and results in a change in fluorescence based upon the particular pH. In some aspects, the disclosure also provides methods of using the polymers for the imaging of cellular or extracellular environment or delivering a drug.
Abstract:
Colorant of formula (I): wherein A signifies a monovalent organic residue comprising a chromophore group; B signifies a bivalent organic residue selected from the class consisting of aromatic, heteroaromatic, cycloaliphatic and aliphatic groups containing from 2 to 10 carbon atoms, optionally substituted; and C signifies the residue of compound comprising at least one amido group, one primary amino group, and one secondary amino group, wherein C is linked to B via a nitrogen atom of an amino group, wherein said compound is a poly(amidoamine).
Abstract:
This invention relates to colored polymer, a process for their preparation, electrophoretic fluids comprising such particles, and electrophoretic display devices comprising such fluids.
Abstract:
Bis(azo-benzene) diamine monomers and a method of synthesizing the monomers are provided. The bis(azo-benzene) diamine monomers, in combination with amine reactive monomers, form polymers, such as polyimides and copolyimides, having photomechanical and thermomechanical properties.
Abstract:
The present application relates to novel whitening agents for cellulosic substrates. The whitening agents are comprised of at least two constituents: at least one chromophore constituent and at least one polymeric constituent. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. This disclosure also relates to laundry care compositions including but not limited to liquid and/or powder laundry detergent formulations and rinse added fabric softening (RAFS) compositions that comprise such whitening agents.
Abstract:
An organic material consisting of a π-conjugated molecule which is in a liquid form at ambient temperature and use thereof are provided. The ambient temperature liquid-form organic material according to the present invention consists of a π-conjugated molecule having 2 or more side chains, the 2 or more side chains are same or different side chains selected from the group consisting of a branched alkyl chain, an alkyl chain having a polymerization site at a terminal, an oligosiloxane chain, a fluorocarbon chain, an oligoethylene glycol chain and derivatives thereof, and each of the 2 or more side chains is bound directly or via a substituent to the π-conjugated molecule.
Abstract:
This application relates to thiophene azo dyes for use as hueing agents, laundry care compositions comprising such thiophene azo dyes, processes for making such thiophene azo dyes, and laundry care compositions and methods of using the same. The thiophene azo dyes contain a formally charged moiety and are generally comprised of at least two components: at least one chromophore component and at least one polymeric component. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to ultraviolet light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. These thiophene azo dyes are advantageous in providing a hueing effect, for example, a whitening effect to fabrics, while not building up over time and causing undesirable blue discoloration to the treated fabrics. The thiophene azo dyes are also generally stable to bleaching agents used in laundry care compositions.
Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a compound that enhances dispersibility of a pigment of respective colors in a water-insoluble solvent, as well as a pigment dispersant, and a pigment composition, a pigment dispersion and a toner having a good tinting power. A method for producing a compound, including the following:(i): subjecting a polymerizable monomer forming a monomer unit represented by formula (1) to radical polymerization in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator and an iodine molecule to provide a polymer; and(ii): binding a colorant to a terminal of a main chain of the polymer: wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom and an alkyl group, and R2 represents a phenyl group, a carboxyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group or a carboxamide group.
