Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for controlling camera images for a camera of a vehicle are provided. In certain examples, a vehicle includes a camera, an input unit, and a processor. The input unit is configured to obtain data pertaining to a light pattern in proximity to the vehicle. The processor is configured to at least facilitate: (i) determining the light pattern in proximity to the vehicle using the data; and (ii) providing instructions for selectively binning the camera images based on the light pattern, the selectively binning including binning first pixels together for a particular image or portion thereof, but leaving second pixels for the particular image un-binned, based on the light pattern.

Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for vehicle backup safety mapping. An example vehicle includes a display, a rear-view camera, and a processor. The processor generates a three-dimensional model of space behind the vehicle based on images from the rear-view camera The processor also generates an overlay based on the three-dimensional model. The overlay includes representation of objects not in the field of view of the rear-view camera. Additionally, the processor displays, on the display, the images from the rear-view camera and the overlay.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus capable of assisting safe driving of a vehicle at a place such as an intersection where the view from the vehicle is obstructed or restricted is provided. And a calculating unit calculates a position of the object in the detected traffic mirror. Abstract: A moving object detection device includes: an image capturing unit with which a vehicle is equipped, and which is configured to obtain captured images by capturing views in a travel direction of the vehicle; a setting unit configured to set, for each of frames that are the captured images, a movement vanishing point at which movement of a stationary object in the captured images due to the vehicle traveling does not occur; a calculation unit configured to calculate, for each of unit regions of the captured images, a first motion vector indicating movement of an image in the unit region; and a detection unit configured to detect a moving object present in the travel direction, based on the movement vanishing points set by the setting unit and the first motion vectors calculated by the calculation unit.

Abstract: A vision system for a vehicle includes a forward viewing camera disposed at a mirror head of an interior rearview mirror assembly of the vehicle and having a forward field of view through the windshield of the vehicle. A sensor is disposed at the mirror head and determines a change in position of the mirror head relative to a mirror mount of the mirror assembly when the vehicle driver adjusts the mirror head. A control includes a processor operable to process image data captured by the forward viewing camera. Responsive to determination by the sensor of a change of position of the forward viewing camera relative to the mirror mount, the control selects an active sub-array of photosensors to provide an effective field of view of the forward viewing camera. The processor processes image data captured by the active sub-array of photosensors for a driver assistance system of the vehicle.

Abstract: An image processing device for a vehicle includes: an acquisition unit acquiring a captured image of a periphery of a vehicle, which is captured by an imaging unit provided in the vehicle; a bird's eye view image generating unit generating a bird's eye view image in which the captured image is projected to a 3D virtual projection plane provided at a side opposite to the vehicle with reference to a ground and separated from the ground with distance from the vehicle; a guide line generating unit generating a guide line indicating a predicted course of the vehicle; a conversion unit converting the guide line into a virtual guide line indicating the predicted course on the virtual projection plane; and a superimposing unit superimposing the virtual guide line on the bird's eye view image.
