摘要: A convertible link for use with an anti-sway bar is provided. The convertible link includes a hydraulic cylinder having a link tube and a fluid shaft. The fluid shaft includes a piston coupled to a first end of the fluid shaft, wherein the fluid shaft and the piston are slidably coupled within the link tube. Fluid flows in and out of the hydraulic cylinder to move the hydraulic cylinder between a fixed and a moveable condition. In the fixed position the fluid shaft does not move with respect to the link tube and the anti-sway bar is operational to control roll. In the moveable condition the fluid shaft is moveable with respect to the link tube and the anti-sway bar is not operational to control roll.

The control arm includes a first connection, the first connection configured to secure the control arm to a first external device and a second connection, the second connection configured to secure the control arm to a second external device. An external force expands or contracts the distance between the first connection and the second connection within predetermined limits. The control arm also includes a mechanical bias, where the mechanical bias returns the distance between the first connection and the second connection to a set free length when the external force is removed.

摘要: Provide is a vehicle behavior control system that can achieve a rear wheel steering control demonstrating a high rate of response at all times without requiring the actuator for the rear wheels to be steered to be unduly increased. A control unit (20) for controlling the rear wheel steering angle is configured to reduce the effective stiffness of the rear wheel suspension systems while increasing the effective stiffness of the front wheel suspension systems when an increase in the road contact load of one of the rear wheels is detected or estimated. Thereby, an actuator (8) for the rear wheel is enabled to steering the rear wheels without involving any undue time delay with a minimum power requirement.

摘要: A damping force control apparatus has shock absorbers 10 each being capable of changing damping force. An electronic control unit 40 calculates estimated roll angle and estimated pitch angle of a vehicle body BD in accordance with sprung accelerations detected by sprung acceleration sensors 41 fl to 41rr, calculates a target pitch angle from the estimated roll angle, and determines target damping force required for front-wheel-side shock absorbers 10 such that the estimated pitch angle coincides with the target pitch angle. The electronic control unit 40 calculates rear-wheel-side jack-up force exerted on the rear-wheel-side vehicle body in accordance with vehicle speed detected by a vehicle speed sensor 43, yaw rate detected by a yaw rate sensor 44 and lateral acceleration detected by a lateral acceleration sensor 45, and determines the force in the direction for overcoming the calculated jack-up force as target damping force of rear-wheel-side shock absorbers 10. The electronic control unit 40 controls the operation of each actuator 31 in accordance with the rear-wheel-side and front-wheel-side target damping forces.

摘要: A stabilizer system for a vehicle including: a stabilizer apparatus which includes: a stabilizer bar connected at opposite ends thereof to respective wheel holding members which respectively hold left and right wheels of the vehicle; and an actuator which changes rigidity of the stabilizer bar in accordance with an operational amount of the actuator from a neutral position; and a control device which determines a target operational amount of the actuator based on a roll-moment-index amount indicative of roll moment that acts on a body of the vehicle, wherein the control device determines the target operational amount such that the target operational amount is made different for different directions of the roll moment that acts on the body of the vehicle and controls an operation of the actuator based on the determined target operational amount.

摘要: In a method for influencing the roll behavior of a motor vehicle having at least one axle with wheels at opposite sides of the motor vehicle, vehicle body movements caused by transverse forces acting at the center of gravity are reduced in that for each vehicle axle wheel, a stabilizer with a hydraulic actuator generating a controllable force is provided and the stabilizer force is transmitted to the respective wheels and vehicle body for counteracting the vehicle body roll movements so as to improve the roll behavior of the vehicle with respect to accuracy and reaction speed.

摘要: A vehicle stability control system is provided, which includes a movable tongue member and a ratchet mechanism. The movable tongue member is adapted to move between a first tongue position and a second tongue position. The ratchet mechanism is adapted to be mechanically coupled to a movable unsprung mass portion and to a sprung mass portion of a vehicle when the vehicle stability control system is operably installed on the vehicle. The ratchet mechanism comprising a ratchet tooth, such that the ratchet mechanism, is adapted to restrict a movement of the unsprung mass portion away from the sprung mass portion when the tongue member is moved toward the second tongue position and into the ratchet tooth, and wherein the tongue member does not restrict the movement of the unsprung mass portion relative to the sprung mass portion when the tongue member is in the first tongue position.

摘要: A motor vehicle has a body supported on a front pair of wheels and a rear pair of wheels with front suspension apparatus providing controllable vertical wheel constraint and roll stiffness and a rear pair of wheels with rear suspension apparatus providing controllable vertical wheel constraint and rear roll stiffness. Responsive to a commanded vehicle acceleration or braking, the driven wheel (acceleration) or front (braking) suspension apparatus is briefly altered to provide optimal tire patch traction for the one of the pair of wheels. The alteration may be further responsive to vehicle speed and/or lateral acceleration. The controllable part of the suspension apparatus may be dampers, springs or anti-sway apparatus such as torsion bars. If anti-sway apparatus, the front and/or rear roll stiffness may be controlled to promote oversteer at low vehicle speed and understeer at high vehicle speed.
