摘要: A piece of substrate material is formed under heat and pressure against a cavity into a shaped substrate sheet having one or more depressions. Two substrate sheets are bonded together to form a substrate wherein the one or more depressions form one or more interior channels. The substrate, if not formed with pre-coated substrate material, is coated with a dope and quenched to form a filtering membrane. A plurality of membranes may be placed side by side to form a bundle with permeating ends of the membrane, which are open to the one or more interior channels, separated by gaps or spacers. The bundle is connected to a header to produce a module. The module can be assembled into a cassette.

An asymmetric microporous membrane embodiment includes, but is not limited to, a thermoplastic polymer substrate defining a plurality of micropores, the thermoplastic polymer including one or more of polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polymethylpentene (PMP), and a combination thereof; and a polymethylpentene (PMP) polymer skin positioned on the thermoplastic polymer substrate, wherein when the thermoplastic polymer substrate includes PMP, the PMP polymer skin has a crystallinity that differs from a crystallinity of the PMP in the polymer substrate.

The liquid precursor material includes a polymer, and a first solvent. The methods also include precipitating the polymer from the liquid precursor material in the coating layer to form a polymer membrane, and drying the polymer membrane to generate a battery separator.

摘要: The present invention teaches an assembly and corresponding method for producing a plastic part having a sandwich mold including an upper half and a lower half. Each of the halves exhibit an opposing inner face which, upon assembling, collectively define an interior cavity corresponding to a configuration of the part to be produced. An insert sheet of a polymer material (typically a thermoplastic at room temperature) is placed upon a lower of the mold halves and prior to assembling the upper mold half. A heat source is communicated to the closed mold to cause the insert sheet to melt into the cavity. A cool source is subsequently communicated to the closed mold to cause the thermoplastic to harden within the cavity and prior to opening of the mold and removal of the finished part.

摘要: Provided is a method of producing a battery separator using surface modification treatment, which produces the battery separator by a dry process, satisfies air permeability and puncture strength properties required in the battery separator, and improves the thermal shrinkage and wettability of the battery cell, thereby appropriately responding to the trend for high-capacity and compact batteries. The method comprises: forming an unstretched sheet; subjecting the unstretched sheet to heat forming; cold-stretching the sheet subjected to the heat forming, thereby obtaining a cold-stretched film; hot-stretching the cold-stretched film by first hot stretching and second hot stretching; and heat-setting the film subjected to the second hot stretching, wherein corona discharge treatment is performed between the first hot stretching and the heat setting.

摘要: A polyolefin microporous membrane includes a polyethylene composition, and 0.5% or more but less than 5% by mass of polypropylene, wherein the polyethylene composition includes polyethylene having a mass average molecular weight of 2.5×105 to 5×105 and ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene having a mass average molecular weight of 1×106 to 3×106 in an amount of more than 5% by mass and not more than 50% by mass based on 100% by mass of polyethylene composition and has a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 5.0 to 300, and the polyolefin microporous membrane has an injection of electrolyte of 20 seconds or less and a uniform polypropylene distribution in at least one plane perpendicular to the thickness direction.

摘要: A method for forming a perforated membrane includes providing a mold having at least a first set of a plurality of rods extending to at least a first height from a base of the mold, introducing a curable material into the mold in an amount such that a height of the curable material from the base of the mold is less than or equal to the first height so that the first set of the plurality of rods are within the curable material and extend to or past the height of the curable material in the mold, curing the curable material, dissolving the first set of the plurality of rods to thereby form perforations in the cured material and removing the cured material having the perforations from the mold.
