摘要: A method for manufacturing a part for an aircraft seat includes positioning a heating frame around a stacked structure, locally heating an edge of the stacked structure using a heating frame, externally heating the entire stacked structure, positioning the stacked structure inside a thermoforming mould provided with cutting punches, closing the thermoforming mould and applying a vacuum to the interior of the thermoforming mould, to simultaneously perform, during the same step of shaping the first cover and the second cover, a step of heat sealing an edge of the first cover to an edge of the second cover, bonding the first cover and the second cover to the foam core, and cutting the stacked structure along the circumference thereof using cutting punches.

摘要: A manufacturing system and method obtain a first digital model of teeth, create a modified digital model of the teeth by adding a locator feature to the first digital model of the teeth, and create a physical model of the teeth based on the modified digital model. A portion of the physical model is created based on the locator feature. A dental aligner device is formed on the physical model of the teeth with extraneous material of the dental aligner device extending away from the dental aligner device. The extraneous material is removed from the dental aligner device from the physical model of the teeth. The forming of the dental aligner device and/or the removing of the extraneous material is performed by positioning the physical model using the locator feature.

摘要: A structural reinforcement for an article including a carrier that includes: (i) a mass of polymeric material having an outer surface; and (is) at least one consolidated fibrous insert having an outer surface and including at least one elongated fiber arrangement having a plurality of ordered fibers arranged in a predetermined manner. The fibrous insert is envisioned to adjoin the mass of the polymeric material in a predetermined location for carrying a predetermined load that is subjected upon the predetermined location (thereby effectively providing localized reinforcement to that predetermined location). The fibrous insert and the mass of polymeric material are of compatible materials, structures or both, for allowing the fibrous insert to be at least partially joined to the mass of the polymeric material. Disposed upon at least a portion of the carrier will be a mass of activatable material.

The method includes laying a pre-heated first plastic sheet on the first mould section; pressing or adhering, via one or more of a partial vacuum or a pressure, the first plastic sheet onto the first mould section; positioning the plastic of the first plastic sheet in areas behind a back-taper of the insert member at a lateral distance from the insert member, or positioning the insert member, after the pressing or adhering, so that plastic of the first plastic sheet is disposed in areas behind a back-taper of the insert member at a lateral distance from the insert member; and pressing or adhering, via a slide, partial vacuum, or pressure, the plastic of the first plastic sheet behind the back-taper and laterally distanced from the insert member, onto the insert member so that a space behind the back-taper of the insert member is filled with the plastic.

The main body is provided at least partially with a reinforcing element made of a fiber-composite plastic. The method includes the steps of providing the main body, providing the reinforcing element, joining the main body and the reinforcing element together, and simultaneously heating the main body and the reinforcing element to a temperature and for a period of time which are chosen to be sufficiently high in order to harden both the metal material of the main body and also the fiber-composite plastic of the reinforcing element.

摘要: A thermoforming in-lay technique is discussed that uses retractable pins to hold an in-lay piece securely in place in a primary mold. The in-lay piece is fabricated prior to the primary molding process and creates multiple pin receivers in the in-lay that are retractably engaged by the retractable pins when placed into the primary mold. When the primary substrate is formed into the primary mold, the retractable pins prevent the in-lay piece from moving out of position. Once the primary substrate has cooled sufficiently, the pins are retracted allowing the finished primary carrier art to be removed from the primary mold.

摘要: A thermoforming mold trimming system, apparatus, and method of use are disclosed. The thermoforming mold trimming apparatus includes a robot support structure with at least one robot secured to the robot support structure. The apparatus also includes a contact probe removably secured to the robot, the contact probe being configured to generate a trim path for a thermoformed molded part. The robot is programmed to follow the trim path generated by the contact probe. The robot then uses a blade to trim excess material of a finished molded part within the housing by following the trim path.
