Abstract:
The invention relates to a mixer for a device for selective catalytic reduction of exhaust gases from internal combustion engines. The mixer comprises a structure of mixer elements through which the mixture of exhaust gas and reducing agent is to flow. The mixer elements have an electric current flowing through them for electrical heating due to the electrical resistance thereof. The invention further relates to a device for selective catalytic reaction of exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas pipe leading to a mixer according to the invention and having a reducing agent pipe which is connected to a reservoir for reducing agent and which opens into the exhaust gas pipe in the flow direction upstream of the mixer, and a catalyst in the flow direction downstream of the mixer.
Abstract:
A mixing device includes a base, shaft, impeller sleeve, and impeller blades. The base can be constructed for releasable attachment to an opening of a container, such as a 55-gallon drum. The shaft extends from the base and is coupled thereto such that rotation can be transmitted to the shaft by way of or through the base. The impeller sleeve is mounted on the shaft and supports the impeller blades. Each impeller blade includes an attachment leg and a stirring leg extending from the attachment leg. The impeller blades are supported so as to transition from a collapsed position with the stirring leg proximal to a central axis of the shaft to an extended position with the stirring leg distal from the central axis when the shaft is rotated. Each impeller blade can be formed of a plastic, such as a glass-filled polypropylene or glass-filled nylon.
Abstract:
A mixing system typically for use in a container for mixing its contents, the mixing system including a cap unit, an extension unit and a magnetic mixing unit that is attached to the cap unit by the extension unit. The magnetic mixing unit can be folded to permit insertion and/or removal of the system via a mouth of the container. The extension unit and magnetic mixing unit connect via a hinge formed by upper and lower hinge portions that meet at a pivot point. The hinge portions extend from the pivot point along a first axis. The magnetic mixing unit includes a first magnetic elongate member that extends from the lower hinge portion along a second axis that is substantially perpendicular to the first axis, and a second magnetic elongate member that extends from the lower hinge portion along the second axis in the opposite direction relative to the first elongate member. The magnetic member(s) may be provided by a plastic coated magnetic stir bar.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a horizontal agitator for producing a substantially horizontal flow in a wastewater treatment tank, a propeller being installed on a polygonal shaft driven by means of a submersible motor, wherein the propeller is produced form a first material, which is formed from a polymer reinforced with first fibres, and as hub has a sleeve which corresponds to the outer shape of the polygonal shaft and which is produced from a second material which is different from the first material.
Abstract:
A photo bioreactor for the growth of photosynthetic organisms comprising a tank (2) for holding a liquid medium, six rotational agitators (3a-3f) for agitating the liquid medium. Each agitator is arranged to agitate about a substantially vertical axis (6a-6f) by sweeping out, upon rotation, a substantially circular path (C) that has a diameter (D) that is substantially coincidental with a radius (R) of the tank (2). Each agitator (3a-3f) is located on a radius which is spaced approximately 60° apart from the next. This allows for more even mixing and more uniform light distribution within the tank.
Abstract:
A mixing beater for a small appliance includes a metallic frame including an arm; a rigid plastic shell extending over the arm; and only one scraper. The scraper extends over the rigid plastic shell and has a flexible blade configured to contact an inner surface of a mixing bowl when viewed in a first plane.
Abstract:
A mixing beater for a stand mixer includes a metallic frame having an arm, a plastic shell extending over the arm, and a scraper that extends over the plastic shell. The scraper has a wiping blade configured to contact an inner surface of a mixing bowl of the stand mixer.
Abstract:
A device is provided for performing chemical transformation in a fluid, with a flow distributor having at least one fluid medium inlet, at least one fluid medium outlet, and at least one confinement wherein the chemical transformation is performed; and a means for rotating, rocking, wagging, or oscillating the device. At least one confinement may be equipped with a provision for providing heat, cooling, sound, light or other types of radiation, such provision being contacted to an external source through an actuator shaft. The flow distributor may be provided with sectors connected with the centrally located fluid medium inlet and a designated peripheral fluid medium outlet. The means for rotating, rocking, wagging, or oscillating the device may be an element producing magnetic fields or a shaft mechanically connected to an external actuating device.
Abstract:
A wet mixing apparatus includes a disc and a casing. The disc has a circular plate-shaped structure, is equipped with a vertically placed rotary shaft member as a central axis and has a plurality of agitation blades provided on a side face of the disc. The casing is provided with a raw material feeding port and a mixture discharging port.
