摘要: Anchoring devices for rachidian implants, implants, surgical instruments, and surgical systems and methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, an anchor comprises a stiff plate with a longitudinal axis, configured for penetration of its anterior end into a vertebral surface while its posterior end remains engaged with the implant. An implant may include a locking mechanism for the anchor. An anchor may include an abutment configured to abut a complementary abutment of an implant. In some configurations, inserting an anchor in a passage of an implant may displace a locking mechanism, which may resile and lock the anchor in the implant with complementary abutments of the anchor and implant abutting.

摘要: Universal joint implant includes an artificial glenohumeral component having articulating surfaces. The artificial glenohumeral component can include a first portion for articulation against an artificial glenoid surface or natural glenoid of the patient, and second portion(s) for articulation against an artificial humeral surface or resected, natural humerus; and a universal joint connection. The connection includes a yoke to provide for a center of movement generally within or adjacent a volume defined by an upper head of a normal humerus, which otherwise would be resected; and a substantially spheroidal body, at least in part, dissected, yet connected to provide the yoke; a body pivotable with respect to the yoke for providing motion in a first direction; a rotatable glenoid fixing member, rotatably fixable about the artificial glenoid surface or natural or resected glenoid; and a rotatable humeral fixing member, rotatably fixable about the artificial humeral surface or resected humerus.

摘要: The present invention provides implants and a method of designing and manufacturing implants using an additive process that avoids damage when removing the implant from a build surface of an additive process machine. The inventive method involves designing an implant and build orientation with a portion of increased volumetric density in contact with the build surface. In some embodiments, the contact area between a device and a build surface is reduced to provide easier detachment after the additive process is complete.

摘要: A system for aligning components of a prosthetic includes a mounting plate, a fastener and an adapter coupling plate. The mounting plate comprises: a first major surface; a second major surface opposing the first major surface; an adapter accommodation hole extending through the mounting plate; and sizing indicia located on the second major surface. The fastener extends from the mounting plate. The adapter coupling plate comprises: a third major surface; a fourth major surface opposing the third major surface; an adapter coupling hole extending through the adapter coupling plate and surrounded by the adapter accommodation hole; and an indicator located on the fourth major surface to point to the sizing indicia on the mounting plate. The adapter coupling plate can be slidable along a slot surrounding the fastener or a tongue and groove system connecting the adapter coupling plate and the mounting plate and locked via the fastener.
