Abstract: A computing system obtains an information model specifying a first surgical plan for an orthopedic surgery to be performed on a patient. Additionally, the computing system modifies the first surgical plan during an intraoperative phase of the orthopedic surgery to generate a second surgical plan. During the intraoperative phase of the orthopedic surgery, a visualization device may present a visualization for display that is based on the second surgical plan.

Abstract: An example method includes displaying, via a visualization device and overlaid on a portion of an anatomy of a patient viewable via the visualization device, a virtual model of the portion of the anatomy obtained from a virtual surgical plan for an orthopedic joint repair surgical procedure to attach a prosthetic to the anatomy; and displaying, via the visualization device and overlaid on the portion of the anatomy, a virtual guide that guides at least one of preparation of the anatomy for attachment of the prosthetic or attachment of the prosthetic to the anatomy.

Abstract: Devices that are implantable within a patient's body, and more specifically, to implantable joints (e.g. hip joint, knee joint, shoulder joint, etc.) having a heating system. For example, a device implantable within a patient's body may include a first member configured to be coupled to a first bone and a second member configured to be coupled to a second bone, the first and second members being operatively coupled to form a moveable joint. A heating system may be configured to controllably heat at least a portion of the at least one of the first and second members. The heating system may include a controller operable to cause a heating element to apply heat based on one or more external conditions (e.g. temperature, humidity, etc.).

Abstract: A method for manufacturing an implant can include receiving at a computing device, patient specific data related to a bone of a patient and implant data related to an implant for the patient, and determining, by the computing device, optimal design parameters for the implant for the patient using the patient specific data and a machine learning model. The method can also include exporting, by the computing device, the optimal design parameters to a manufacturing device of systems for manufacturing the implant. The optimal design parameters can provide for a non-solid implant construction in regions of lower stress within the bone of the patient and a solid implant construction in regions for higher stress within the bone of the patient to bring stress distributions closer to those experienced in a non-implanted bone to, in turn, reduce the likelihood of bone resorption and peri-prosthetic fractures after implantation of the implant.

Abstract: The application is directed to devices and methods where one or more magnetic or magnetizable implants provides therapeutic benefits to a patient. The implant may be useful for expanding the range of motion of joints or dynamically providing different responses to changing conditions in the body where the implant is placed. An electromagnet is placed on or in a bone on one side of a joint, and another electromagnet or magnetically active material is placed on or in a bone on the opposing side of the joint. The electromagnet may be continuously energized to relieve pressure in the joint space, or may be energized in response to forces applied to the joint.

Abstract: In general, scapular tethers and methods of using scapular tethers are provided. A tether is configured to be implanted in a body of a patient and to control movement of the patient's scapula. In an exemplary embodiment, the tether is configured to be attached to at least one body structure in a patient. The tether includes a flexible member configured to, when implanted in the patient, flex in response to movement of the patient's scapula accompanying arm movement of the patient.
