    摘要: Electronic devices may be provided that contain wireless communication circuitry. The wireless communication circuitry may include radio-frequency transceiver circuitry coupled to antennas by switching circuitry. Multiple radio access technologies may be supported. A device may include first and second antennas. Control circuitry can configure the transceiver circuitry and switching circuitry to support operation of the device in active and idle modes for each radio access technology. In some configurations, both antennas may be used to support operations associated with one of the radio access technologies. In other configurations, the first antenna may be used to support operations with a first of the radio access technologies while the second antenna is used to support operations with a second of the radio access technologies.

    摘要: A single chip mobile wireless device capable of receiving and transmitting over one wireless network at a time maintains registration on two wireless communication networks that each use different communication protocols in parallel. Periodically, the mobile wireless device tunes one or more receivers from a first wireless network to a second wireless network in order to listen for paging messages addressed to the mobile wireless device from the second wireless network. The first wireless network suspends allocation of radio resources to the mobile wireless device based on receipt of a suspension message from the mobile wireless device, or based on knowledge of a paging cycle for mobile wireless device in the second wireless network, or based on detection of an out of synchronization condition with the mobile wireless device.

A first paging message schedule may be determined for maintaining communication between the wireless device and a first base station associated with a first wireless communication technology. Similarly, a second paging message schedule may be determined for maintaining communication between the wireless device and a second base station associated with a second wireless technology. Additionally, a scheduling conflict may be determined between the first paging message schedule and the second paging message schedule. Accordingly, communication with the first base station may be switched to a third base station using the first wireless technology in response to determining that there is a scheduling conflict.

The method further comprises sending status information to a packet data serving node that stores a list of push servers associated with a wireless device, and having the packet data serving node forward the status information to the push server.     摘要: A method and apparatus for improved timer based registration for a mobile device with a network, the network having a standard slot cycle time for interrupts, the method comprising the steps of: receiving, at the mobile device, a system parameter message from the network, the message having a value indicating a frequency for periodic registration; setting a timer value on a timer at the mobile device, the timer value being greater than the standard slot cycle time; setting a counter to count expiration of the timer; starting the timer; upon expiration of the timer, decrementing the counter; upon the counter reaching zero, waiting for a paging slot to communicate with the network; and sending a registration message to the network on the paging slot.

    摘要: A cellular communications system may include at least one base station selectively denying attempts to establish wireless communications links therewith, and wirelessly transmitting denial messages for denied attempts. The system may further include at least one mobile cellular communications device including a wireless transceiver and a controller cooperating therewith for attempting to establish a wireless communications link with the at least one base station having a quality of service (QoS) level associated therewith. If a denial message is received, the controller continues to attempt to establish the wireless communications link at a first attempt rate. Yet, if the wireless communications link cannot be established with the desired QoS level, and if no denial message is received, then the controller continues to attempt to establish the wireless communications link at a second attempt rate different than the first attempt rate.
