摘要: Several embodiments of the type two-cycle crankcase compression engines having exhaust control valves for controlling the effective compression ratio of the engine. The exhaust control valves are rotatably journaled in respective cylinder banks and are disposed at the same distance from a plane passing through the center of the valley between the cylinder banks as each other facilitating a common drive therefor. In one embodiment the exhaust control valves are disposed on the side of the cylinder banks adjacent the valley and in another embodiment they are disposed on the outside of the cylinder banks.

摘要: An exhaust control system for a two-cycle engine for controlling the effective compression ratio. The exhaust control valve is operated by a servo mechanism to maintain the appropriate compression ratio in response to engine running conditions. To facilitate servicing, the exhaust control valve is rotatably journalled within the engine cylinder block in a removable sleeve. In addition, a manual operator is provided for manually rotating the exhaust control valve for cleaning operation and to reduce sticking if corrosion occurs.

摘要: An improved scavenging control system for a multi-cylinder, V-type, two-cycle crankcase compression internal combustion engine. In each embodiment, a scavenging manifold extends along one side of the crankcase chamber and communicates with the individual sealed sections therein through respective scavenging control passages. A plurality of butterfly-type throttle valves controls the communication between the crankcase chamber and the scavenging manifold and these valves are all affixed on a common valve shaft. In one embodiment, the scavenge control system is disposed in the valley between the cylinder banks and in the other illustrated embodiment, the scavenging system is disposed on one side of the crankcase and outside of the valley between the cylinder banks.

摘要: An improved lubrication system for a two-stroke engine having a lubrication path from an oil sump directly to an induction valve assembly for noise reduction. The oil sump is divided into two chambers with a restricted passage therebetween to ensure lubrication of transmission gears upon startup while reducing drag during operation. A cross-drilled lubrication passage through each crankshaft throw terminates in a second passage proximate a dead-end plug, the second passage being in communication with the piston rod bearing. Each piston skirt includes at least one axial groove in registration with an oil supply passage. Circumferential grooves distribute the oil around the piston skirt from the axial grooves. The pistons may include ceramic top layers for heat insulation to increase the compression ratio possible by raising the ring positions. The engine incorporates an air/oil mixture separator within a balancer shaft chamber and air from the chamber is directed to the intake system.

摘要: An oil-metering system for an internal combustion engine including an oil tank for supplying oil to the lubrication areas of the engine. The plurality of individual oil supply conduits are provided for supplying oil to lubrication areas. A pumping and control means individually meters oil supplied by the oil tank and supplies to the lubrication areas or returns oil to the oil tank. A single oil-return manifold connects the pumping and control means by a plurality of individual return conduits. The oil return manifold and pumping and control means are commonly mounted in close proximity to each other in order to reduce the length of the return conduits.

摘要: A hybrid motorcycle capable of mounting thereon a hybrid-type drive unit, which does not project in a vehicle width direction and can be mounted even on a motorcycle having a limited vehicle width, includes a power distributing device positioned between a generator and a motor, and a reduction device arranged rearwardly of the power distributing device. A front end of a drive-wheel transmission device is journaled on a rear end of a central storage casing so that a rear end side of the drive-wheel transmission device is vertically swingable, and a rear wheel is journaled on the rear end of the drive-wheel transmission device. The power distributing device includes a sun gear, planetary gears, a planetary carrier, and a ring gear. Further, a carrier shaft projects from a rotor shaft and rotation of a crank shaft is transmitted through a intermediate gear portion to the projecting end of the carrier shaft.
