摘要: A uniflow dual fuel engine including a plurality of cylinders, a piston in each cylinder, inlet ports arranged around each cylinder to be uncovered by downward movement of the piston in the cylinder. Air is forced into the cylinder through the inlet ports and there is a fuel injector to pump diesel fuel into the cylinder. There is an inlet pipe extending into one end of the port of each cylinder to end immediately adjacent the interior of the cylinder and connected at its distal end to a gas source.

摘要: The invention relates to an internal combustion engine of the type wherein there is associated with each working cylinder an additional cylinder communicating with the working cylinder and containing a piston which displaces a smaller volume than that of the working cylinder and co-operates with a crankshaft positively connected with the crankshaft of the working piston, which two crankshafts can be offset angularly relatively to one another, and in the said engine the frequency of rotation of the crankshaft co-operating with the piston of the additional cylinder is more than twice that of the crankshaft co-operating with the piston of the working cylinder and is preferably 3 times as great.

摘要: A two-stroke internal combustion engine is disclosed having opposed cylinders, each cylinder having a pair of opposed pistons, with all the pistons connected to a common central crankshaft. The inboard pistons of each cylinder are connected to the crankshaft with pushrods and the outboard pistons are connected to the crankshaft with pullrods. Each opposed cylinder further comprises an integrated scavenge pump for providing positive intake pressure. This configuration results in a compact engine with a very low profile, in which the free mass forces can be substantially balanced. The engine configuration also allows for asymmetrical timing of the intake and exhaust ports through angular positioning of the journals on the crankshaft.

摘要: A two-cylinder engine comprises a first cylinder and a second cylinder adapted to perform explosions at such timing that an interval from explosion in the first cylinder to explosion in the second cylinder becomes shorter than an interval from the explosion in the second cylinder to the explosion in the first cylinder, a single carburetor, and an intake manifold having an intake passage communicating with the carburetor and first and second branch passages branched from the intake passage and communicating with the respective cylinders. The intake passage and the branch passages are arranged such that an angle formed between an axis of the intake passage and an axis of the first branch passage becomes smaller than an angle formed between the axis of the intake passage and an axis of the second branch passage.

摘要: An improved scavenging control system for a multi-cylinder, V-type, two-cycle crankcase compression internal combustion engine. In each embodiment, a scavenging manifold extends along one side of the crankcase chamber and communicates with the individual sealed sections therein through respective scavenging control passages. A plurality of butterfly-type throttle valves controls the communication between the crankcase chamber and the scavenging manifold and these valves are all affixed on a common valve shaft. In one embodiment, the scavenge control system is disposed in the valley between the cylinder banks and in the other illustrated embodiment, the scavenging system is disposed on one side of the crankcase and outside of the valley between the cylinder banks.
