    摘要: A two-cylinder engine comprises a first cylinder and a second cylinder adapted to perform explosions at such timing that an interval from explosion in the first cylinder to explosion in the second cylinder becomes shorter than an interval from the explosion in the second cylinder to the explosion in the first cylinder, a single carburetor, and an intake manifold having an intake passage communicating with the carburetor and first and second branch passages branched from the intake passage and communicating with the respective cylinders. The intake passage and the branch passages are arranged such that an angle formed between an axis of the intake passage and an axis of the first branch passage becomes smaller than an angle formed between the axis of the intake passage and an axis of the second branch passage.

    摘要: A one-piece crankcase and cylinder block structure for V-type internal combustion engines is disclosed, which is formed by casing and comprises a crankcase with its one end wall side opened and a cylinder block including at least a pair of right and left cylinders opposed to each other at 90.degree.. The cylinders are formed to project at their skirt portion into inside of the crankcase forming a longitudinal space between the protruded ends of the skirt portions to house a camshaft. Another space is defined adjacent to the opened side of the crankcase between the protruded ends of the skirt portions to house a camshaft gear. Since the construction is such that, in casting, the directions in which the segments of mold and the cores are ejected from the casting are uniformly distributed, and the distance over which the cores and mold segments are ejected is greatly minimized. Thus, a relatively small casting machine can be employed to properly cast such a one-piece crankcase and cylinder block structure.

Flanges (81f, 83f) are formed in respective joint portions of the air cleaner casing (81) and the air cleaner cover (83). The mounting structure also includes a slider (10) movable between a disengagement position and an engagement position in a direction parallel to the joint portions. This slider (10) when moved to the engagement position connects the flanges (81f, 83f) of the air cleaner casing (81) and cover (83), but when moved to the disengagement position the slider (10) enables the cover (83) to be released from the casing (81).

The intake manifold comprises a single inlet passage portion, and two branch passage portions which branch from an outlet end of the inlet passage portion and which communicate respectively with the intake passages. Each of these passage portions is formed straight so that the intake manifold can be cast by means of metal dies. Also disclosed in a method of manufacturing the intake manifold.
