    摘要: A lubrication system for lubricating bearings that includes at least one lubrication pump for pumping lubricant to the bearings and at least one metering valve for distributing the pumped lubricant throughout the lubrication system to the bearings. The system further includes a lubrication controller in communication with the at least one lubrication pump and at least one metering valve for controlling the lubrication system. The controller has firmware configured to provide a sequence of instructions to perform specified tasks and hardware that carries out the sequence of instructions to perform the specified tasks. In an unconfigured and unconnected state, the lubrication controller can be configured by reprogramming the firmware, to selectively control at least one of a series progressive lubrication system, a dual line lubrication system and a single line parallel lubrication system.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for supplying lubricating points of an I.S. glassware forming machine, wherein a used lubrication system comprises a plurality of lubricant metering devices (29) that are provided to output lubricant to a plurality of lubricating points, that are to be lubricated, of the glassware forming machine and are allocated in each case to one of several lubrication circuits (23-28). The lubricant metering devices of a respective lubrication circuit simultaneously output a predetermined amount of lubricant in each case cyclically with a time interval allocated to the lubrication circuit. The lubricant metering devices are allocated to lubrication circuits in dependence upon temperatures that have been measured in direct proximity to lubricating points, and are allocated such that the temperatures of the lubricating points of a lubrication circuit are within a predetermined temperature range. The amounts of lubricant provided at the lubricating points are controlled in that the length of the time interval allocated to a lubrication circuit is determined in dependence upon temperatures, that have been measured in direct proximity to lubricating points of the lubrication circuit, using a set of evaporation characteristics of the lubricant. In accordance with the invention, the consumption of lubricant can be further reduced. The invention further relates to a device for implementing the method.

    摘要: A lubricant dispenser having a cartridge, a wall in the cartridge defining therein a lower chamber and an upper chamber, and a piston subdividing the lower chamber into a lower lubricant compartment and an upper gas compartment. The cartridge has an outlet opening into the lower lubricant compartment. A body of fluent lubricant fills the lower lubricant compartment. A housing in the upper chamber holds a gas generator connected through the wall to the gas compartment and electrically energizeable to generate gas and pressurize the gas compartment. A battery is secured to the housing. An electronic controller removably mounted in the upper chamber has electrical contacts connectable to the battery and to the gas generator. It is powerable by the battery for operating the gas generator and thereby pressurizing the gas compartment, moving the piston, and forcing the lubricant out of the outlet.

    摘要: An air or oil dryer module is provided to remove or reduce moisture from a lubricant using a pressurized air supply to inject dry air into a lubricant sump. As the “dry air” or air with a minimized moisture content, gathers moisture from the lubricant a relative humidity sensor detects an increase in air moisture. At a pre-determined relative humidity level, a fresh supply of air is added into the lubricant sump, purging the higher relative humidity level air from the sump. A method of reducing moisture content of a lubricant contained in an enclosed space is also disclosed and is performed by agitating the lubricant, providing a humidity sensor in fluid communication with the enclosed space, measuring the humidity of the enclosed space and comparing the humidity measurement with a pre-selected humidity level, introducing dry air into the enclosed space if the humidity level equals or exceeds the pre-selected humidity level, until the saturated humidity level is less than the pre-selected humidity level.

    摘要: A bearing system including one or more bearings for optimizing stiffness of each bearing which includes an individual regulator, pressure meter and flow meter to each bearing. The meters send instantaneous values of pressure an flow rate to a computer system which performs an algorithm using the values and computes target signal values for each individual bearing. These values are then transmitted to the respective pressure regulators. The pressures applied by the regulators are maximum values with which the bearing can operate without going into vibration. One algorithm that the computer uses is to compute an "impedance" value of the bearing which is defined to be P/S where P is the pressure measured by the pressure meter and S is the flow rate measured by the flowmeter. This approach assumes that the actual effective pressure in the bearing is at last proportional to the pressure measured at the meter. If Pm and Sm are the pressure and flow rate respectively when the bearing pressure is just below a value where the bearing starts to resonate, then the computer works toward maintaining the pressure P and flow rate S at values where P/S=Pm/Sm. In another embodiment, after load is applied at a location with respect to the bearing, the computer computes pressure in the various bearings depending on where the load is located and value of the load so that total force and moment on the bearings equals zero. The invention is applicable to bearings relying on hydrodynamic and hydrostatic forces.

    摘要: A compressor includes an air cooled lubricant temperature regulator and an engine for providing motive force to the compressor. A first, electric-driven, self-priming pump provides a supply of lubricant to the compressor prior to starting the engine and for a predetermined period of time after the engine is operating. The first pump is flow connected in fluid receiving relation with a lubricant reservoir. A first electronic controller means directs compressor operations, including directing operation of the first pump. A second electronic controller, external to the first controller means, directs operation of the first pump after engine operation. A second, compressor-driven, self-priming pump provides a primary lubricant pumping function during engine operation at predetermined run speeds. A valve means is flow connected intermediate the discharge of the first pump and the discharge of the second pump for preventing lubricant cross flow between the first and second pumps during simultaneous operation thereof. The first pump preprimes the second pump to facilitate the self-priming duty of the second pump.

An analog-to-digital converter is responsive to the analog sensors and switches and provides a plurality of digital sensing signals representative of the status of the lubricating system. A provided memory includes a nonvolatile memory for storing instructions. By using a keypad, an operator selects and inputs parameters into the nonvolatile memory. A microprocessor processes the digital sensing signals in accordance with the parameters stored in the nonvolatile memory. Relays are responsive to the microprocessor and initiate lubrication of the lubricating system. A display, responsive to the microprocessor, indicates the status of the lubricating system.
