Abstract: A communication device may be configured to access a plurality of subscriptions for a plurality of providers. For example, a communication device may be configured with at least one subscriber identity module (SIM). For a communication device having a plurality of subscriptions accessible thereto, the selection of a subscription to connect to a destination network may be configurable. The selection of a subscription from a plurality of available subscriptions may be based on a cost (e.g., financial cost, data cost, or another resource) associated with connecting to a destination network using different subscriptions. For example, a first subscription may be selected if connection to the destination network is more expensive using a second subscription and/or if the balance on the second subscription is too low.

In another aspect, an apparatus for managing activities are provided. The apparatus may receive a navigation request to a destination and an indication to participate in a phone call while traveling to the destination. The apparatus may provide a route from the current location of the user to the destination. The apparatus may estimate wireless communication coverage conditions along the route. The apparatus may further issue an alert about zones of wireless communication coverage weaker than a threshold based on the wireless communication coverage conditions along the route.

Abstract: Techniques for calibrating a crystal oscillator of a wireless device are provided. A method according to these techniques includes operating a transmit path of the wireless device at a first carrier frequency, configuring a receive path of the wireless device to receive at a second carrier frequency, the second carrier frequency being offset from the first carrier frequency by a first frequency offset, transmitting a tone using the transmit path at a frequency that is offset from the first carrier frequency by a second frequency offset that is different than the first frequency offset, receiving a second tone via the receive path, and determining the oscillator error based on the second tone.
