Abstract: The present invention provides a 1,3,7-octatriene polymer having a narrow molecular weight distribution and a hydride thereof. Specifically, the 1,3,7-octatriene polymer is a polymer containing a structural unit derived from 1,3,7-octatriene, wherein the polymer has not only a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 2.05 or less but also a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of 1,000 to 1,000,000.

Abstract: Provided is a resin composition containing polymethallyl alcohol (A) having a repeating structural unit represented by the following formula (1) in an amount of greater than or equal to 30 mol %, and a component (B) that is at least one of an acid component having a pKa of 3.5 to 7.5 and an anion of the acid component, the pKa being a logarithmic value of a reciprocal of an acid dissociation constant at 25° C., a content of the component (B) being greater than or equal to 0.01 μmol per 1 g of the polymethallyl alcohol (A); a method of producing the resin composition; and a molding containing the resin composition.
