    摘要: A turbocharger assembly is provided which prevents liquid moisture 82 from damaging an air fuel ratio sensor affixed to the exhaust pipe. The turbocharger assembly includes a turbine housing, a turbine wheel, a volute defined in the turbine housing, and an upwardly extending exhaust pipe. The turbine housing may be affixed to a center turbocharger housing member. The turbine housing includes an anterior region and a posterior region having the volute. The turbine wheel may be disposed in the turbine housing. A liquid moisture 82 pathway may be defined in the turbine housing and is configured to provide liquid fluid communication from the anterior region toward the volute.

    摘要: Provided herein are gas sensor heat shields comprising at least one wall having a top edge and a bottom edge, the wall forming a body, a base connected proximate the wall bottom edge defining a bottom diameter, the base including an aperture capable of receiving a gas sensor, and a circumferential lip proximate the wall top edge extending radially outward and defining an outer lip diameter, wherein the at least one wall is tapered radially outward at an angle of about 3 degrees to about 17 degrees, and the ratio of the outer lip diameter to bottom diameter is at least about 5:3.5. Heat shields can be used to protect gas sensors from heat, specifically those used for exhaust gas systems servicing internal combustion engines and turbochargers.

    摘要: An exhaust gas treatment system to treat exhaust gas includes a particulate filter, a second temperature sensor and a control module. The particulate filter includes a PF substrate configured to trap particulate matter contained in the exhaust gas. The second temperature sensor is configured to output an outlet temperature signal indicating an outlet temperature at the outlet of the particulate filter. The control module is in electrical communication with the second temperature sensor to receive the outlet temperature signal. The control module determines a maximum substrate temperature of the PF substrate based on the outlet temperature. The control module is further configured to determine whether the particulate filter includes an active washcoat disposed thereon based on the maximum substrate temperature.

    摘要: An exhaust treatment system includes a particulate filter having a filter substrate configured to trap soot contained in exhaust gas. A regeneration system is configured to perform a regeneration operation that regenerates the particulate filter by burning away soot stored in the filter substrate. A control module is in electrical communication with the regeneration system to generate a first control signal that initiates the regeneration operation based on a comparison between at least one operating condition of the exhaust treatment system and a threshold value. The control module generates a second control signal in response to detecting at least one diagnostic signal. The second control signal initiates the regeneration operation independently of the comparison.

    摘要: A method for particulate filter performance monitoring in an exhaust gas treatment system is provided. The method includes monitoring a current received from a soot sensor in the exhaust gas treatment system and comparing the current to a soot sensor current threshold. Based on determining that the current is greater than or equal to the soot sensor current threshold, an accumulated engine out soot value is compared to an accumulated engine out soot threshold. A particulate filter fault is set based on determining that the accumulated engine out soot value is less than the accumulated engine out soot threshold. A monitoring system and an exhaust gas treatment system of an engine are also provided.
