Abstract: In a heat exchanger, an outside air passage, through which outside air flows, is provided between adjacent tubes of the refrigerant tube and the coolant tubes. Disposed in the outside air passage is an outer fin joined to at least one of the refrigerant tube and the coolant tube and configured to accelerate heat transfer between the fluids. A dimension of the refrigerant tube in a flow direction of the outside air is different from a dimension of the coolant tube in the flow direction of the outside air. Hence, with respect to the outer fin joined to both of the refrigerant tube and the coolant tube, an area of a joint surface between the refrigerant tube and the outer fin is different from an area of a joint surface between the coolant tube and the outer fin.

Abstract: A flow passage switching unit includes side-by-side arranged rotary valve parts. The valve part includes a casing, side walls, a peripheral wall, first fluid ports, a second fluid port, a rotary shaft, and a valving element. A flow passage, through which the first fluid ports and the second fluid port selectively communicate, is formed by rotation of the valving element. The unit includes a driving mechanism driving each valving element by its corresponding predetermined rotation angle. The driving mechanism includes one driving source, and a motive power transmission member transmitting rotation motive power of the driving source respectively to the valve parts. Motive power of the driving source is transmitted to each rotary shaft of the valve parts to drive each valving element to a position, which position of the valving element relative to the first and second fluid ports is different from one another among the valve parts.

Abstract: A heat pump cycle includes a refrigerant circuit and a coolant circuit. A first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger are disposed between the refrigerant circuit and the coolant circuit. The first heat exchanger includes an exterior heat exchanger that functions as an evaporator in a heating operation, and a radiator for radiating heat of a coolant. The second heat exchanger transmits a heat of high-pressure refrigerant to the coolant in the heating operation. A temperature of refrigerant within the second heat exchanger is higher than a temperature of refrigerant within the first heat exchanger. The heat obtained from the second heat exchanger is supplied to the first heat exchanger through the coolant. Further, the heat obtained from the second heat exchanger is stored in the coolant. In defrosting operation, the coolant that has stored the heat therein is supplied to the first heat exchanger.

Abstract: In a heat exchanger, a second fluid flowing space communicating with second tubes is formed to be divided from a first tank space within a tank unit forming a first tank space that collects or distributes a refrigerant. The tank unit is defrosted by a coolant flowing in the second fluid flowing space, which is higher in temperature than the refrigerant flowing in the first tank space. With this configuration, heat from the second fluid flowing in the second fluid flowing space included in the tank unit is effectively transferred to a portion of the tank unit which is likely to be frosted.

Abstract: An air conditioning system has a heat pump, a first-liquid-medium circuit in which a first liquid medium circulates, a second-liquid-medium circuit in which a second liquid medium circulates, a heat source, a connection switching device, and a controller. The connection switching device switches between a connection state in which the heat source is connected to the second-liquid-medium circuit and a disconnection state in which the heat source is disconnected from the second-liquid-medium circuit. The controller controls the connection switching device to switch between the connection state and the disconnection state based on a heat-related physical quantity relating to a heat of the first-liquid-medium circuit, a heat-related physical quantity a heat of the second-liquid-medium circuit, a heat-related physical quantity the heat generated by the heat source, or a heat-related physical quantity a heat of the heat pump.

Abstract: A vehicle air conditioning apparatus includes: at least one processor programmed to control a flow rate of at least one of a heat medium and outside air flowing through a heat medium-to-outside air heat exchanger such that a temperature of blast air cooled in an air-cooling heat exchanger is adjusted toward a first target temperature, and to control a flow rate of a refrigerant discharged from a compressor such that a temperature of blast air, which has been adjusted in at least one of the air-cooling heat exchanger and an air-heating heat exchanger and which is blown out into a vehicle interior, is adjusted toward a second target temperature. Accordingly, a surface temperature of the air-cooling heat exchanger and the temperature of the blast air into the vehicle interior can be properly controlled.

The plurality of heat exchangers are arranged in a blowing direction of the blower, and separately radiate heat of the cooler circuit. The heat exchanger, which is disposed on the windward side, of the plurality of heat exchangers is thermally connected to the first heat exchanger, and the heat exchanger disposed on the windward side radiates heat by itself and also radiates heat through the first heat exchanger.
