The present invention relates to a heat-resistant expansive member suitably used as a holding member for holding a ceramic monolithic catalyst in a motor vehicle or the like. The heat-resistant expansive member of the present invention is made at the blending ratio of 1 to 5 wt % of sepiolite, 30 to 60 wt % of treated vermiculite, 20 to 40 wt % of ceramic fibers and 5 to 20 wt % of an organic binder, or at the blending ratio of 21 to 30 wt % of sepiolite, 30 to 40 wt % of treated vermiculite, 20 to 40 wt % of ceramic fibers and 5 to 20 wt % of an organic binder. Regardless of the low- or high-temperature zone, the heat-resistant expansive member of the present invention presents a great holding force to the monolithic catalyst or the like. The heat-resistant expansive member is improved in cushioning properties and gas-attack resisting properties particularly in the high-temperature zone.

A thermoplastic polymer composition(a) 10 to 95 parts by weight of a block copolymer which comprises at least two polymer segments comprised primarily of a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and at least one polymer segment comprised primarily of a conjugated diene, in which:(i) the content of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon is more than 60% by weight and 95% by weight;(ii) the weight ratio of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon present in the copolymer as the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer block to the total vinyl aromatic hydrocarbons present in the copolymer is more than 0.75% to 0.98%; and(iii) the ratio of the weight average molecular weight to the number average molecular weight of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer block in the copolymer is 1.2 to 2.0 and(b) 5 to 90% by weight of polyphenylene ether, and, optionally,(c) 3 to 400 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the total weight of said components (a) and (b), of polystyrene.

The present invention relates to a sheet for a carrier tape, having at least one layer comprising (I) a block copolymer comprising a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and a conjugated diene, (II) a non-rubber-modified vinyl aromatic type hydrocarbon polymer, and (III) a rubber-modified vinyl aromatic type hydrocarbon polymer, wherein the peak molecular weight of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer block in the block copolymer (I) is from 30,000 to 80,000, the half-width in the molecular weight distribution curve of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon block is from 1.3 to 2.8, the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon content in the sheet for a carrier tape is from 75 to 95 wt %, and the content of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer component is from 65 to 85 wt %.The sheet for a carrier tape of the present invention is transparent and excellent in the balance of physical properties such as rigidity, impact resistance and heat shrinkability, and therefore, can be suitably used for a carrier tape for packaging an electronic component (e.g., IC, LSI) in an electronic device.

The present invention provides a block copolymer or a hydrogenated product thereof excellent in low-temperature shrinkability, natural shrinkability, rigidity and the like, excellent in a balance of physical properties such as blocking resistance, resistance to fusion bonding in hot water, impact resistance and the like, and having a few fish eyes (FE's) caused by gels. Further, the invention provides a heat shrinkable film and a heat shrinkable multilayer film suitable for drink container packaging, cap seals and the like, using such a block copolymer or the hydrogenated product thereof. The invention provides a block copolymer having a weight ratio of a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and a conjugated diene of 60/40 to 90/10 and a number average molecular weight measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) of 30,000 to 500,000, wherein the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon constituting the block copolymer has a block rate of from 10 to 90% by weight, the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer blocks constituting the block copolymer have a peak molecular weight within the molecular weight range of 5,000 to 30,000, and 40 to 80% by weight of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer blocks have a molecular weight of 35,000 or less.

The invention relates to a block copolymer hydrogenation product having a weight ratio of a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and a conjugated diene of 55/45 to 95/5, a number average molecular weight measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) of 30,000 to 500,000 and a hydrogenation rate of 30% or more, wherein the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon incorporated into the hydrogenation product has a block rate of 60 to 98% by weight, wherein relative to the weight of the total vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer blocks, the ratio of vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer blocks having a molecular weight of 50,000 or less is 80% by weight or more and the ratio of vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer blocks having a molecular weight of 15,000 or less is from 10 to 80% by weight, and wherein at least one peak temperature of function tan δ in a dynamic viscoelasticity measurement of the hydrogenation product is present within the range of exceeding −80° C. to lower than −10° C.

The present invention provides a production process of a heat shrinkable film which is transparent, excellent in the balance of physical properties such as rigidity, elongation and shrink properties in both MD and TD, especially has a uniform film thickness and good stability in extrusion molding film while utilizing an inflation method; a block copolymer or hydrogenated product thereof, or a composition composed thereof excellent in tensile properties, optical properties, hardness, stretch properties, molding processability, shrink properties and solvent resistance and therefore suited for extrusion, injection molding and foams. The production process of a heat shrinkable film has a first inflation step of forming a tube having a thickness of from 0.05 to 0.5 mm by using a block copolymer having a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon content of from 65 to 95 wt. % and a conjugated diene content of from 5 to 35 wt. %, or a hydrogenated product of the block copolymer; and a second inflation step, successively to the first inflation step, stretching the tube to from 1.5 to 5 times the original length in the TD in a fluid of from 65 to 100° C.
