Abstract:
A pre-formed header assembly creates a rough wall opening for a metal door/frame, permitting completion of electrical, ducting, drywall, etc. prior to receiving/installing the door frame. The header is secured to first and second king studs at respective locations positioned beyond a desired door frame location. The header includes four different channels, one of which is utilized at two locations. The first channel has a first length to span between the king studs. The second channel has a second length, and the third channel a third length, which correspond to minimum dimensional requirements for completing the wall. The base of the second and third channels are each fixedly secured to the base of the first channel. The base of the fourth and fifth channels are fixedly secured to the first and second ends of the base of the first channel, respectively, substantially perpendicular thereto, for attachment to the king studs.
Abstract:
A hydraulic switching mechanism for the mobile hydraulics of, for example, hydraulic excavators, with a valve block, with electrohydraulically activatable valve units for controlling the movement of a working cylinder whose cylinder chambers can be selectively connected to a pump connection for hydraulic fluid, to a tank connection or to one another, and with pre-control valves for activating the valve units, wherein the hydraulic switching mechanism, by means of separate tank valve units and pump valve units, and also a suitable pre-control system, makes it possible to achieve a directional control valve function and a directly controlled and superimposed pre-controlled lowering braking function, a maximum pressure safeguarding of the cylinders and a proportional throttle valve function for the controlled displacement under negative load forces in the direction of movement and braking in an emergency; and mobile hydraulic machines having such a hydraulic switching mechanism and also to valve units therefor.
Abstract:
A sealed hydraulic tank system for a mining shovel (10) includes an upper tank (68) and a lower tank (70). An air bladder (69) system is coupled to the upper tank to exchange air between the tank system and the bladder. The tanks include baffles (100,102,104,106,108) which filter the hydraulic fluid and which direct fluid flow along an elongated path to allow for de-aeration of the oil in the tank.

An embodiment of a safety helmet for protecting the human head against repetitive impacts, moderate impacts and severe impacts so as to significantly reduce the likelihood of both translational and rotational brain injury and concussions includes a outer shell, an outer liner disposed within and coupled to the outer shell, and an inner liner disposed within and coupled in spaced opposition to the outer liner by a plurality of isolation dampers for omnidirectional movement of the inner liner relative to the outer liner and the outer shell.
Abstract:
Methods of intervening to protect a close motor for a network protector unit for a power distribution transformer are discussed. The close motor is protected from damage by intervening to prevent further attempts to energize the close motor after an abnormal condition is detected. The intervention may be cleared after a cooling off period or some other metric. In some implementations, the intervention remains in effect until an operator investigates and then clears the intervention so that the close motor may be energized to close the network protector breaker.

A sensor system adapted for characterizing a region of interest within a subject while minimizing bleeding is provided. The sensor system comprises a hollow tool configured to be inserted into the subject, the hollow tool comprising an orifice positioned at an angle with respect to its horizontal axis, a probe disposed within the hollow tool and configured to transmit data from the region of interest; wherein the probe protrudes from the orifice of the hollow tool to be in contact with the region of interest and processing circuitry coupled to the probe and configured to process the sensed data to characterize the region of interest.
Abstract:
Equipment having an energy management system includes an articulated arm, a work implement, an energy management system, and a hydraulic circuit. The articulated arm includes hydraulic actuators designed to maneuver the articulated arm, and the work implement is fastened to the articulated arm. The energy management system is adjustable between a first configuration and a second configuration, and includes a hydraulic rotating machine and an electric rotating machine coupled to the hydraulic rotating machine. When the energy management system is in the first configuration, the hydraulic rotating machine and the electric rotating machine function as an electric motor powering a hydraulic pump. When the energy management system is in the second configuration, the hydraulic rotating machine and the electric rotating machine function as a hydraulic motor powering an electric generator. The hydraulic circuit is designed to supply a hydraulic fluid to drive the hydraulic actuators when the energy management system is in the first configuration, and is further designed to recover the hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic actuators and to generate electrical power when the energy management system is in the second configuration.
Abstract:
A hydraulic reservoir includes a container having an internal volume, an internal wall dividing the internal volume of the container into a first section and a second section for separately containing the hydraulic fluid, and two one-way valves. The first one-way valve allows the hydraulic fluid to be drawn out of the first section of the hydraulic reservoir and substantially prevents a flow of the hydraulic fluid back into the first section. The second one-way valve allows the hydraulic fluid to be returned to the second section of the hydraulic reservoir and substantially prevents a flow of the hydraulic fluid out of the second section. A cooling/filtering loop may connect the second section and the first section such that the used fluid in the second section may be processed and returned to the first section in a substantially unused condition.
