摘要: A drug solution injection needle is provided that can not only inject a drug solution from multiple locations, but also restrict the depth of puncture by injection needles while preventing an observable wheal from being unlikely to form. The drug solution injection needle has multiple injection needles and a needle support for supporting the plurality of injection needles. The needle support has: a needle protruding surface from which the multiple injection needles protrude out; and an abutment fragment, which is formed in the needle protruding surface and abuts the skin to obstruct the multiple injection needles from entering the skin when the multiple injection needles have entered the skin to a predetermined depth. The abutment section is provided away from the injection needles such that an observable wheal is formed around each of the multiple injection needles.

摘要: A surgical or wound closure device utilizes a slide fastener for rapidly closing a surgical incision or wound with precise apposition of the sides of the incision. The surgical closure devices are configured for linear incisions, shaped incisions, such as used for wedge biopsy or excisional biopsy, and long incisions, such as used for laparotomy or surgical removal of redundant skin. The surgical closure device may be adhered to the patient's skin prior to making an incision and is subsequently used for closing the incision.

摘要: A syringe assembly for dispensing medicine from a cartridge having a diaphragm and a piston opposite the diaphragm. The assembly includes a barrel having a hollow interior, an open proximal end, a closed distal end, and an outlet. The assembly also includes a cartridge receiver slidably receivable in the hollow interior of the barrel. The receiver includes an interior space for receiving the cartridge, an access needle extending into the interior space for puncturing the diaphragm of the cartridge. The access needle directs fluid to the barrel outlet. The cartridge receiver includes a plunger rod movable into the interior space of the cartridge receiver for engaging the piston of the cartridge to selectively force medicine in the cartridge through the access needle.

摘要: A fluid delivery device includes an array of needles, each in fluid communication with a respective reservoir. Respective actuators are coupled so as to be operable to drive fluid from the reservoirs via needle ports. Each needle can have a plurality of ports, and the ports can be arranged to deliver a substantially equal amount of fluid at any given location along its length. A driver is coupled to the actuators to selectively control the rate, volume, and direction of flow of fluid through the needles. The device can simultaneously deliver a plurality of fluid agents along respective axes in solid tissue in vivo. If thereafter resected, the tissue can be sectioned for evaluation of an effect of each agent on the tissue, and based on the evaluation, candidate agents selected or deselected for clinical trials or therapy, and subjects selected or deselected for clinical trials or therapeutic treatment.

摘要: A method and apparatus for thawing and delivery of cryogenically frozen biological material, such as stem cells includes a housing for receiving a pouch of frozen cells, a heating element against which the pouch is placed for applying defrosting heat to the pouch, and a squeezing apparatus for applying a squeezing force to the pouch after or upon thawing of the cells. The squeezing force may be applied by a roller pressing the pouch against the heating element, which forces the thawed cells from a needle or tube connected to the housing and/or to the pouch. A rechargeable battery in the housing supplies power to the heating element and the squeezing apparatus.
