Abstract:
A method for sharing multilayered electronic content among users of a social network within a digital education platform is provided. In one embodiment, the digital education platform allows a user to create user-generated content associated with a multilayered document and share the content with other users in an education social network. The user can specify which users to share the user-generated content and assign an access right to each of those users that may access the user-generated content. When the digital education platform receives a request to access the user-generated content from a certain user, an access right associated with that user for the user-generated content is determined and access is granted according to the access right.
Abstract:
An on-line education or learning creation computer services system that creates college-level courses which can be downloaded to a student's tablet or wireless computer as an APP. Embodiments are specifically disclosed as an application builder routine that creates multiple protocol packages for college-level courses, and for a synchronous lecture routine that allows multiple students to engage in a virtual live lecture in real time from remote locations. Students may study courses on their computers while off-line, if desired. Professors may edit existing courses without taking them down from the servers or APP stores.
Abstract:
A method and system for creating and navigating linear hypermedia resource programs are disclosed. The system includes a distributed hypermedia resource network having a plurality of hypermedia resources residing on one or more remote information nodes. A common remote information node is in communication with a subscriber station and the remote information nodes in the distributed network. The common remote information node contains at least one linear hypermedia resource program consisting of pre-selected media elements from one or more hypermedia resources linked with exclusive linear links, each media element in the linear program having only one forward link to the next media element. The method includes the steps of downloading and displaying a media element in the linear program and responding to user commands to download and display the next media element in the linear program.
Abstract:
Techniques and architectures for implementing a team of virtual assistants are described herein. The team may include multiple virtual assistants that are configured with different characteristics, such as different functionality, base language models, levels of training, visual appearances, personalities, and so on. The characteristics of the virtual assistants may be configured by trainers, end-users, and/or a virtual assistant service. The virtual assistants may be presented to end-users in conversation user interfaces to perform different tasks for the users in a conversational manner. The different virtual assistants may adapt to different contexts. The virtual assistants may additionally, or alternatively, interact with each other to carry out tasks for the users, which may be illustrated in conversation user interfaces.

Abstract:
Elements of game play, such as usage statistics, scores, levels, challenges, achievements, competition, and the like, are incorporated into a productivity application to assist in motivating users to learn features of the productivity application. A recommendation system is utilized to assist users in determining what features of the application to learn next. Help content that is associated with the productivity application can also be tied to the features that are currently being learned and used by the user such that the linked help content is readily available. Users may compare their scores and compete with other persons that are also participating in the game play learning system.
Abstract:
A computer network implemented system for enabling intelligent crowd sourced examination marking is provided. The system includes a marker community manager that enables authorized users of the system to access one or more features or functions for building and managing a crowd of markers (“crowd markers”) associated with the system, and optionally dedicated to one or more authorized users, wherein the marker community manager includes or is linked to a profile manager for creating and updating a profile for each crowd marker (“crowd marker profile”), and storing the crowd marker profiles to the database. An examination content distributor is also provided for making accessible examination content to crowd markers using one or more network-connected devices. A marking manager enables authorized users to (i) create one or more active crowd sourced marking projects, and (ii) to automate the management of one or more workflows related to the completion of one or more aspects of active crowd source marking projects. The system enables authorized users to generate one or more marking parameters associated with marking projects or associated marking activities, where the marking parameters may relate to marking quality criteria, and the marking parameters are stored to the database as a marking profile. A matching component for matching marking projects or marking activities to crowd markers suggests suitable crowd markers for the marking project, and optionally suggests allocation of particular marking activities to selected crowd markers, or groups of crowd markers. The system delivers applicable examination content for marking (including scoring and/or providing feedback on examination content) by selected crowd markers, or groups of crowd markers through an adaptive marking tool. Related computer implemented methods are also provided.
Abstract:
A social learning and exploration platform to learn about both specific and everyday concepts by exploring an organized collection of multiple flips or media, called flips. Users of the system have the ability to explore a number of categories of content, create and assimilate curated content across those categories, define sets of questions and explore concepts with flips. The system invites crowdsourced perspectives on any concept and expands anyone's search query through invited or crowd sourced collaboration (gain exposure to new facets of a concept through collaborative set creation).
Abstract:
Systems and methods for screening applicants are disclosed herein. A method of screening applicants is performed by a screening server. The server begins by receiving a selection of screening services and an applicant profile that identifies an applicant. The screening continues by generating screening results specified by the selection of screening services based on the applicant profile. A property manager is then notified that the screening results are available for the applicant based upon the applicant profile. The screening results are then provided to the property manager based upon the applicant profile. Based on these screening results, the screener or property manager can make a decision about the applicant and communicate a decision action to the applicant.
Abstract:
There is provided an information processing apparatus that readily supports to provide hardware resources for implementing ICT education in the field of education. The information processing apparatus includes a device information receiver that receives, via a network, device information for identifying a device connected to a portable terminal, an education application selector that selects, based on the device information, an education application to be provided to the device, and an education application provider that provides the education application to the device via the network and the portable terminal.
