Abstract: Systems and methods for configuring a media playback device to connect to a local area network (LAN) and be controlled by a mobile device also configured to connect to the LAN are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes displaying screens on a graphical user interface on the mobile device indicating the status, scanning for Bluetooth low energy (BLE) devices using the mobile device, detecting a media playback device as a BLE device, connecting the mobile device to the media playback device using BLE, obtaining LAN connection information, configuring the media playback device to connect to the LAN using the BLE connection from the mobile device, and setting speaker configuration information for the media playback device using the graphical user interface.

Abstract: An automated log scaling system and method. One or more imagers may capture depictions of respective first ends and/or second ends of a plurality of logs, and use the captured depictions to scale the plurality of logs. A diameter value for each end of the log may be determined using the captured depictions. Relative location values for each captured end may be determined and used to form a length of each log. Information captured in the images is used to identify the type of tree or species of tree for each log. At least one of the diameter values may be multiplied by the determined log length, and the resulting product value may be compared to values in a log scaling chart to determine a value for the log. The value of multiple logs may be used to form a load of logs for distribution.

Abstract: Low-level nodes (LLNs) that are communicatively connected to one another each have sensing capability and processing capability. High-level nodes (HLNs) that are communicatively connected to one another and to the LLNs each have processing capability more powerful than the processing capability of each LLN. The LLNs and the HLNs perform processing based on sensing events captured by the LLNs. The processing is performed by the LLNs and the HLNs to minimize data communication among the LLNs and the HLNs, and to provide for software-defined sensing.

Abstract: A modular and distributed architecture for data stream processing and analysis is described to incorporate data stream analytics capabilities, called Data Stream Analytics Service (DSAS) in the IoT/M2M service layer. Each service layer node hosting DSAS can be split into two independent modules, Stream Forwarder and Stream Analytics Engine. Stream Forwarder is a light weight processing modules that can be responsible for data preprocessing and routing. Stream Analytics Engine is responsible for performing actual analytics on the data stream. Separating the two functionalities enables the service layer nodes to efficiently distribute stream analytics tasks across multiple nodes.

The device translates the contextual data for the cloud-native application into a network policy for traffic in the SD-WAN associated with the cloud-native application. The device applies the network policy to a traffic flow in the SD-WAN between an endpoint and a particular microservice of the cloud-native application.
