摘要: The present invention comprises a filter housing having two or more layers of filters. Each layer is preferably spaced apart from each other so as to provide a chamber or gap between them. A port or vent is located within the chamber or gap between the two layers to provide an intermediate path for gas or liquid to flow through one layer of filter or membrane and out the vent or port for integrity testing.

摘要: Multi-layer membrane devices with reduced performance variability, and method of reducing performance variability of such devices. The variability is reduced by combining two or more membranes with similar pore sizes, and carefully selecting the upstream membrane based upon its performance rating, in order to control the performance of the overall device. Selective layering reduces the capacity range of the device when compared to random layering, with the mean capacity greater than overall population mean. The flux range also can be reduced, with the mean near the overall population mean. The LRV range also can be reduced, with the mean LRV near or higher than the overall population mean.

摘要: A gas-separation membrane module assembly and a gas-separation process using the assembly. The assembly includes a set of tubes, each containing gas-separation membrane elements, arranged within a housing. The housing contains tube sheets that divide the space within the housing into three separate, gas-tight spaces, with the tubes mounted in the central space. Feed gas enters the tubes through apertures positioned to feed multiple membrane elements within a tube in parallel, and one or more manifolds are used to collect residue gas from the membrane elements and direct the gas to the residue port or to a second group of membrane elements within the tube. The assembly can be used in various ways to carry out gas separation processes.

摘要: A distillation device and method of manufacturing a distillation device is disclosed. The distillation device includes at least one spiral wound membrane distillation (MD) unit. The spiral wound MD unit includes a perforated center tube concentric to a cylindrical housing and a plurality of effects spirally wound around the center tube. Each of the effects include a vapor permeable membrane, a feed spacer disposed on the vapor permeable membrane, a permeate spacer, and a heat exchange film. The permeate spacer is disposed between the vapor permeable membrane and the heat exchange film. Distillation of a feed fluid by the plurality of effects deposits a condensate fluid into the center tube.

A sealing body is disposed within the pressure vessel and is compressed against an inner surface of the pressure vessel to provide a leak-right seal in between a feed gas side of the sealing body and a non-permeate side of the sealing body. The sealing body may be slid within the pressure vessel without damaging the sealing body and in all cases without requiring mechanical assistance.

摘要: Provided is a multi-functional filter including a first filter and a second filter to purify a biological fluid, a housing defining an adsorption section outside of the first filter and the second filter, a flow partitioning connector connecting the first filter and the second filter, and a housing port allowing a fluid to flow through the adsorption section. The housing may comprise a wall, a first cap coupled to the first filter at one end of the wall along a longitudinal direction, and a second cap coupled to the second filter at the other end of the wall along a longitudinal direction. The multi-functional filter according to the present invention in which dialysis, adsorption, and plasma separation or ultrafiltration are integrated to purify blood or dialysate and the internal flow is facilitated may provide a blood purifying apparatus that simplifies the whole apparatus, provides convenience in installation and use, and reduces a treatment cost.

摘要: A reverse osmosis membrane filtering device includes: a water-collecting member including at least one water collecting pipe, and having a plurality of sections each of which has a plurality of water collecting apertures: at least one filter assembly disposed around the plurality of sections, the at least one filter assembly including a filter member including a reverse osmosis membrane; at least one insertion tube disposed inside the water-collecting member and defining a plurality of permeate-water channels corresponding to the plurality of sections inside the water-collecting member in cooperation with at least one seal member; and a pressure adjusting device configured to increase a pressure of at least one of the plurality of permeate-water channels to a pressure higher than that of another one of the plurality of permeate-water channels.

A purification system may include a removable purifier cassette having a purifier inlet port and a purifier outlet port, and a manifold assembly. The manifold assembly can include a plurality of connection systems to that provide manifold ports to provide fluid to/from the cassette. In some embodiments, the connection systems may use connection nuts that can provide 360 degrees of thread engagement with less than 360 degrees of rotation.
