摘要: A strip-shaped or wire-shaped compound material with a base material of copper or a copper alloy and with a moltenly applied surface coating of a tin alloy, whereby between both materials there is formed an intermetallic phase. The inventive additive of 0.001 to 0.5% cobalt to pure tin or a tin alloy results in a particularly fine-granular, smooth intermetallic phase and not only a higher total layer hardness, a better bendability, a higher shearing resistance and a lower elasticity module, but, in particular, also a high creeping resistance. The compound material can be utilized within a wide range for electromechanical and electrooptical structural elements, plug connectors and soldered structural parts.

摘要: The solid-liquid diffusion process used to form triniobium tin superconductor is improved by oxidizing the tin coated niobium substrate with an oxide layer on the surface of the tin coat after tin dipping. The oxide layer can be added to the tin coat by passing the tin coated niobium substrate through an oxidizing chamber before the reaction anneal step, by adding oxygen to the reaction anneal furnace with argon or helium, by adding oxygen to the cooling tower immediately after the tin dipping process, or by controlling the exit temperature of the tin coated substrate from the tin dip in room atmosphere conditions.

摘要: A soldering technique is provided especially for printed circuit boards wherein a bath of solder assisting fluid such as non-ionic surface active agent is superposed on a bath of solder. In one form, the workpiece is passed through the bath of solder assisting fluid and solder is pumped from the bath of solder to a trough whereat the solder is cascaded onto the workpiece. In another form, the workpiece is passed downwardly through the bath of solder assisting fluid into the bath of solder for the application of solder to the workpiece. Thereafter, the workpiece is withdrawn from the bath of solder through the bath of solder assisting fluid. In both instances, while the workpiece is still within the bath of solder assisting fluid, jets of this fluid are played against the workpiece to control the thickness of the solder which is allowed to remain on the workpiece. This is accomplished by immersion of fluid levelling knives in the bath of solder assisting fluid with jets being played by these knives onto the workpiece. In addition, provision is made for air blowing the workpiece to remove the solder assisting fluid therefrom. Thereafter, the workpiece is cooled, rinsed and dried.

摘要: Disclosed is a process for the preparation of welded cans, which comprises forming a blank comprised of a surface-treated steel plate into a cylinder and passing a lap portion of the formed cylinder between a pair of electrode rollers through an electrode wire to effect electric resistance welding, wherein said surface-treated steel plate comprises a layer of metallic tin or a tin-iron alloy formed on the steel plate substrate in an amount of 0.05 to 1.0 g/m.sup.2 as calculated as metallic tin and a hydrated chromium oxide layer formed on said tin layer in an amount of 0.005 to 0.05 g/m.sup.2 as calculated as metallic chromium and electric resistance welding is carried out in an inert atmosphere in the state where an electrode wire having a plating layer of tin or a tin alloy having a thickness of 0.1 to 20 .mu.m is kept in close contact with the surface of said surface-treated steel plate. In the inner and outer surface portions of the side seam of a welded can prepared according to this process, the thickness of the oxide layer is controlled below 400 .ANG. and the amount of tin in these inner and outer surface portions is at least 60% of the amount of tin in the starting surface-treated steel plate, and this welded can is excellent in the corrosion resistance, lacquer adhesion and appearance characteristics of the seam.
