    摘要: Providing for dynamic allocation of network resources for delivery of network content is described herein. By way of example, network resources can be correlated with real-time network conditions, and monitoring of the network conditions can be employed to track availability of subsets of network resources. Where a subset of network resources allocated to support a particular application is available, the subset of resources can be allocated to one or more client devices, on demand. Where insufficient resource availability exists, resources can be freed up from other subsets of network resources to bolster availability of requested resources to support an application, or a demand for resources can be rejected. Billing for network resources can be in part or in total based on resources consumed, among other dynamic factors, in addition to or in lieu of static factors.

    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide network models, methods, systems, and computer program products for managing a service. For example, in some embodiments, a network model for managing a service includes an end service domain that associates the service with an end service provider. The end service domain includes a plurality of wholesale service domains that each includes one or more networks that provide traffic transport for the end service domain. One or more gateways are used to couple one of the wholesale service domains to another one of the wholesale service domains, and to perform protocol translation on traffic passing between the coupled wholesale service domains. In addition, one or more gateways are configured to couple a user to the end service domain, and are further configured to communicate with the user by a protocol associated with the service. A process domain provides an abstract representation of applications provided by the end service domain.

The system and method can receive, at one or more processors, the user-defined sets of rules and instructions from a plurality of end users via a plurality of end user devices. The system and method can configure a virtual network for each end user within the communication network using the policy management capabilities based on the user-defined sets of rules and instructions provided by each end user. The user-defined sets of rules and instructions define provisioning and delivery of resources and services provided by the communication network to the end user.
