Abstract: A method in a communications network for connecting to the network a subscriber apparatus from amongst a plurality of subscriber apparatuses to a respective network portal apparatus from amongst a plurality of network portal apparatuses. The method includes providing a portal aggregation server (7) storing a plurality of network portal addresses associated with the plurality of the network portal apparatuses (12, 13, 14) and a plurality of subscriber identifiers which each identify a respective one of the plurality of subscriber apparatuses. The method further includes the step, performed at the portal aggregation server, of receiving from a subscriber apparatus (2) a connection request to connect to the network. The request comprises a subscriber identifier associated with the subscriber apparatus. The method includes mapping the received subscriber identifier to a network portal address, and redirecting the connection request to the network portal address so mapped.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for configuring a network device are disclosed. In one aspect, a network address that is assigned to the network device by a network address server is detected by an equipment configuration device. The network address server differs from the network device. In response to detecting the network address, a set of connection parameters that connect the network device to a controller device is transmitted by the equipment configuration device and to the network device. The set of connection parameters is transmitted outside of communications, transmitted by the network address server, that assigned the network address to the network device.

Abstract: Technologies to provide a gateway-assisted out-of-band (OOB) remote management session between a remote management service (RMS) and a managed client system are provided. In response to a fault being detected at a client computer system, a RMS receives a client initiated remote access (CIRA) packet from the client system. The CIRA packet includes client configuration information and a single hop network appliance identifier (SHNAI) associated with a network appliance that is a single hop away from the client system. The RMS inspects the SHNAI and the client configuration information, and identifies and copies suitable application(s) from a storage system to a local storage of the gateway indicated by the SHNAI. The RMS instructs/controls the client system to perform an IDE redirection to the gateway in order to provision the application(s) from the local storage of the gateway. Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a network device that determines a persistent network identity for a networked device. Specifically, the network device receives a service request that includes an identifier for a second network device in a sub-network among a plurality of sub-networks. The identifier uniquely corresponds to the second network device during a limited period of time. At least one sub-networks are unreachable by the service request. The network device aggregates partial networked device profiles corresponding to the second network device received from other network devices in at least the at least one sub-networks to generate a networked device profile. Moreover, the network device searches at least one caches to obtain the networked device profile based on the identifier in the service request, and correlates the identifier to a persistent network identity corresponding to the second network device based on the networked device profile.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present application provide a method for transferring authorization information, a relay device, and a server. The method includes: receiving, by a DHCPv6 relay device, authorization information delivered by an AAA server; and inserting an option into a DHCPv6 Relay-Forward message, encapsulating the authorization information in the option, and sending the option to a DHCPv6 server. By using the technical solutions of the present application, a DHCPv6 relay device sends authorization information delivered by an AAA server to a DHCPv6 server, so that the DHCPv6 server can provide a correct configuration for a DHCPv6 client according to the authorization information delivered by the AAA server.
