摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed that provides improved techniques and metrics used to improve the “Quality of Experience Delivered” (“QED”) for use in Private Enterprise networks. The method and apparatus provides normalized metrics used for assessing all service types for performance. Focus is placed on latent scores and allowing for a range of acceptable operational scores. Observation points are identified and metrics collection is performed at the ingress and egress points for functional/application/node/service levels. Assessment based on packet sizes groups is enabled, rather than as an aggregate for better understanding of the tunability of the application layer for improved service. Burstiness of the traffic is gauged to allow for improved scheduling in the RAN. Individual deployments are adapted to assess ΔG and assess ΔS and ΔV for end-to-end performance management.

摘要: Described herein are systems and techniques to facilitate rapid and effective notification of issues that may affect services and applications configured at a cloud-based system. A service monitoring system may be queried regularly for status data for services operating in a cloud-based system. The service status data received in response may be compared to previously stored service status data to identify new and changed issues. Based on the types of issues identified, urgent and/or non-urgent notifications may be generated and transmitted to the users associated with the affected service and/or other parameters using multiple communications channels. Responsive failover actions may also be implemented based on the detected issue and the impacted service.

摘要: Detect, at a cable/fiber broadband network termination unit of a cable/fiber broadband multi-service operator, an interruption in service to a cable/fiber broadband network customer unit-small cell pair. Responsive to detecting the interruption, the termination unit advises a charging server of the operator of the interruption in service, a corresponding identifier of the customer unit – small cell pair, and a corresponding account identifier. Responsive to termination unit advising the charging server, the charging server advises a backend server of an associated cellular network of a customer identifier corresponding to the account identifier. Responsive to the charging server advising the backend server, the backend server advises a policy control function of the associated cellular network to modify network parameters of the associated cellular network to compensate for the interruption in service.

摘要: In various implementations, a computer-implemented method for remotely managing settings of applications includes receiving a network communication from a managed device, the received network communication including a client-side hash value. The method further includes identifying settings for an application on the managed device in response to the receiving of the network communication, where the identified settings include configuration instructions for the application. Based on a comparison between the received client-side hash value and a server-side hash value that corresponds to the identified settings, at least some of the identified settings are transmitted to the managed device. The transmitting of at least some of the identified settings can be based on the comparison indicating a mismatch between the received client-side hash value and the server-side hash value. The method may also include completing processing of the received network communication after the transmitting of the at least some of the identified settings.

摘要: An approach is provided for determining availabilities of servers in multiple tiers of a workload. A Monte Carlo approach is performed on a non-linear program resulting from availability and resource constraints being added to an optimization problem which includes a workload availability requirement, resource requirements for redundancy groups (RGs) in the workload, sets of server sizes, and sets of availability categories. Feasible solutions to the optimization problem are generated and each includes a cloud site hosting the workload, a number of servers in an RG, server sizes of the servers in the RG, categories of availability of the servers in the RG, and a number of servers in the RG that are required to be active for the RG to be available. A cost of achieving the requirement of the availability of the workload is minimized by performing a Pareto analysis of the feasible solutions.

The method can include obtaining first performance data reflecting performance by first networking components of a first classification and, based at least on the first performance data, determining a first expected service level of a first redundant configuration of the first networking components. The method can also include obtaining second performance data reflecting performance by second networking components of a second classification, and, based at least on the second performance data, determining a second expected service level of a second redundant configuration of the second networking components. The method can also include providing an evaluation of the first redundant configuration and the second redundant configuration based at least on first expected service level and the second expected service level, and configuring network traffic based at least on the evaluation.
